they choose religion to get themselves on track.
My brother-in-law and sister-in-law used to be into drugs, cheating on each other, and beating up each other. They started going to a new church, became "Born Again" and then judged everyone else in the family for not becoming like them.
I told them I have't f-ed up my life bad enough to join their church.
They only did it for like 5 years, then they dropped it like a hot potato and resumed their earlier lifestyle.

The worst of the worst are born again Christians. They are the scum of the earth, Un educated, Ignorant. Thinking they are forgiven by an unseen force is basically all they have going for them. It gives their otherwise pathetic lives meaning.

That is why 97% of Prisons are filled with Born Again Christians. Sounds like a cop out to me.

I am A born again christian and I'll tell you what i know. Well Being Born again is beleiving that Jesus died on the cross for your sins which he did.Ok. Now Your brother and sister in law who went to a church for 5 yrs well shouldnt judge any one becasue it says in the bible not to judge. Now maybe they were just telling you what your doing wrong in your life but are not judging you if you know what I mean. The reason they dropped out of the churhc is because maybe some one siad some thing to hurt them or maybe the have become distant from God. But no body is perfect we all make msitakes and we should always think the best of others and say the best about others. maybe if you go to there church a few times just to see there point of there view and isnt it great that they stopped doing drugs and beating each other but its a shame they left a good church. Maybe if you pray for them that they stop judging others and they find God again. I know from my life. being born again christian is the hardests life but is the best and fulfilling life anyone can ever imagion. I hope I helped with your question>

I don't think so. I have accepted Christ and though I may have encountered several trials, i dont think i have a messed up life. I never killed anyone. I have no criminal record. Never been into drugs and alcohol. My parents would attest that i never gave them any headaches when i was still studying. I was able to finish my undergrad degree, got a good job and i'm in the process of completing a post grad degree. Do you think you have a better life than mine?

But, at one point in my life, I realized those things i have in life doesnt cover for my sins. And so, I asked God for forgiveness and acknowledged Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Whether, a criminal, an addict or not, we are all the same... we need God's grace.

They just traded a jesus addiction for a drug addiction. I can't find the link, but I read somewhere that when AA was started way back when, the medical community was totally aware of the fact that a harm-reduction approach is better for an addict than a cold-turkey approach. The evangelical minister who founded AA definitely knew this as well. AA wasn't designed to get people to stop drinking, it was designed as an evangelical tool. This swapping of addictions has been known for centuries.

Am I Does one bad apple spoil the whole bunch? No. These people evidently made a mistake, turned from their mistake, then went right back from their mistake. Who or what caused them to go back to their former way of life? Did God do it? God showed them right from wrong and let them make their own choice. They made the choice to go back to their former habits-not God. A person can't be forced to become a Christian. We are to tell others about Christ- but there is a right and a wrong way of doing things. It was good of them to want to share their faith, but they evidently went about it the wrong way. We need to share our faith and joy we have in God but we are to do it in a proper manner . Faith in God, going to church isn't something a person does only as a last resort. A person isn't to turn to God only untill they feel their life is in a mess. Upon such a time? Yes, fine. Before such a time? Yes, even better. What if a persons life is in a mess but dies, is killed, etc. before feeling it's time to start going to church? They would have died before coming to God and as such spend eternity in (let's just say, a place other than Heaven.) It's not like we can control all the events of our lives and can have full control of when we will die. It just don't work thata way.If church, belief, faith in God is for loosers only-then I'm a loser (I"m not) and so are multiple millions of other Christians. If you want to call me a loser-fine. When judgement day rolls around, and it WILL, we will see who the actual losers are. We losers will go to a place of perfection and everlasting joy. Those that reject Christianity will go to a place or eternal seperation from God and everlasting torment. Want to take your chances? Go for it. But don't blame us "losers" when you find out who really lost and who was given the victory. Know who Billy Graham, Charles Stanley, (both very well known preachers) Alberl Pujols,(baseball all-star) Curt Warner,(football QB, former all-star) are? They are all Christians and none of them is a loser. Turn to God now. What has God done wrong that you don't want to trust Him? If Jesus gave His life to save us (you included) does that not show love and care for us? What's wrong with that? The fact that Jesus did this is very well documented. Please turn to God now while there is still time to do so. PS dear Pathofre... From where do you get your 97% figure. I worked in the penal system for over 22 years and I see that your figure is a LIE and misleading. Much like your comments are. Maybe your ID should be Path-etic.. And to Misterh... I'm glad I'm not a first class winner like you are. Am I irritated by their comments? Yes. Should I have written this PS? No. I just know irrational postings when I see them, and I think I just pointed it out.

Who is to judge what he or she does not know?

A completely born Christian remains in the Truth, and the truth in him.

Some meet God at church, (mustly with a blind or cheatinng leader), as if God is not welcome in their house. Some give God some attention, some give God their lives.

It is very simple : "if one loves the world, goes back to the love of their life".

Welcome everyone God in the house and ride with him in the car.
God's merciful spiritual power is omnipresent, But remember! do not ask God for superfluous favors that would keep this evil system of things alive!

Different people interpret "born-again" in many different ways.
If you mean why Christians backslide, that's simple. Once a Christian, one becomes the potential enemy of the devil. The devil will naturally do something to put a stop to that. If one is not a matured Christian, he may lose to the wiles of the devil. If we but encourage new Christians with their enthusiasm, their interest might not wane.

To be Born Again means to have a new spirit...the old has gone, the new has come. I think they didn't let it sink into them. They should have work it through conforming themselves into more Christlike and not conforming others into what they thought a Born Again should be. People who backslides, they are crucifying Jesus again, shaming His name and His followers. Although not all experiences ended like that of your brother and sister-in-law...it still sad they easily gave up.

Thanks for the information. I have always thought that Born Again people have wrong concepts of God and how he works in our lives. It takes more than just being born again to live a Christian life.

Catholics and Protestants agree that to be saved, you have to be born again. Jesus said so: "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3).

When a Catholic says that he has been "born again," he refers to the transformation that God’s grace accomplished in him during baptism. Evangelical Protestants typically mean something quite different when they talk about being "born again."

I consider myself ‘born again’ every time I receive the Holy Eucharist, renew my baptismal vows and confess my sins to a priest.
