Don't you think that fact that there is more than one religion, thousands actually, portray that fact that some jo blow made it up for their village or town or whatever back in the day? How can people not see this. It's so sad.

why do people settle on one religion. how do you know that one is correct. I think we don't know and never will, so quit worrying about it.

Religion depends upon faith in a belief system, not upon logic. Your assumption is based upon logic, not faith.
Could it be that there is more than one religion because humanity is not capable of understanding the Divine? Each culture and society came to slightly different conclusions. All made assumptions based upon the best guesses of which their location was capable at that time.
The guess became fact. The fact became dogma. Dogma could be used to control. Most people are damaged goods. Most people are not very logical. Most people take the easy way out.

As many as people seeking ways to find God, so the number of religions are. It's so sad, because people people look from somewhere else. But the truth is not hidden in the religion of man. It's in the person of Jesus Christ.

When you see a Cross, what does it remind you of immediately, Jesus?
When you see three crosses on a hill or together does it remind you of Jesus and the two who were crucified with him? Of course it does, its written in our hearts and minds, Hebrews 10:16. Denying it is useless. The Lord knows your Heart. Yes Christianity is about the Heart, it starts changing you on the inside, thats why people struggle with turning there lives over to Jesus. As humans we want control but in order to go to Heaven we must believe in Jesus, there is no other way. There is going to come a time when you are going to have to make a decision, Not accepting Christ as Lord and Saviour has severe consequences. The Bible says those who do not believe spend an eternity with the devil in a lake of fire. Not funny. Whats amazing is that people don't realize that when you become Born Again there is so much peace and joy in your heart it is unexplainable. Yes Christians suffer, but inside the pain is not the same. Christ comforts our hearts and lets us see more of the big picture of what is going on in the world around us. You can be saved today, if you believe, just say this simple sinners prayer and start your life over now, just say Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. You can only be one religion at any on time because you can't be live one thing an the opposite of that thing at the same time. It won't work.

This clearly indicates that Almighty Allah does not accept a religion other than Islam.
In this regard, Almighty Allah says, (And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted from Him, and in the Hereafter, he shall be one of the losers) (Aal `Imran 3: 85).

Linda there was only one religion which was based on belief of One God who is Creator, Benefactor and Self-Sufficient without any image. Later people developed many different gods and ideas. Each one started thinking that he is right so humanity diversified as the spread on earth in different tribes. Pride, rascism and ignorance governed by self-righteousness cause them to evolve in to a strange-being.

Religion per se, as it is, is a personal and harmonious relationship with God. This is generic. As long as one has this relationship, brand names or styles of achieving it does not matter so much.

people are on the whole, easily led. i believe most of it comes from a lack of intelligence. however there are idiots on either side. but the ingelligent ones who continue to believe in such utter nonsense are quite simply afraid to face the truth, and thus have no excuse.

eh, actually what i find quite funny is the major similarities between a bunch of these religions...but god forbid there be anything likening islam to buddhism, or christianity to voodoo (and they actually do have some similarities jaja)
