I just want to know?

There seem to be a lot of anger and very little "Live and Let Live"

Growing up Catholic doesn't necessarily make one Christian and it wasn't until I was at my lowest did I realize that I couldn't continue trying to live my life by my terms. Turning to Jesus Christ was the best thing that I ever did. It gave me clarity and an inner peace. I did it when I was ready to and not because it was told to me or forced upon me. I don't threaten others that don't believe or try to convert the non believers but rather tell them my story if willing to listen and pray that they find their story before it is too late. Would I give my life up for Christ and my beliefs .... yes. Do I want to die ....no. Would I accept death....yes. Since I made my peace when I asked him to enter into my heart and into my life I know where my eternity will be spent. Some who don't understand look at this as weakness but in fact it is a unlimited and wonderful strength.

First, I wouldn't say that I wanted a religion, however I wanted to know the truth about Questions like, Why are we here? Why do bad things happen? Is this all there is?  Second,  I looked closely at if the things on the earth could have come about by chance. How there "just happen" to be enough water here on the earth and the way it is distributed  and allows food to grow. Then the many seeds available that somehow turn into trees to feed the many animals. Also the earth itself, being the perfect distance from the sun and tilting just in the right way for seasons. I could go on for days. The explanations that other books give leave to much to chance and are unreasonable to me. So I thought to myself, if there really is a God, then by looking at his creations, he has to be loving and care about are happiness. The variety  of the seasons and tasty food we eat. The interesting animals that we can examine and play with. The ability to appreciate a  Beautiful sun rise or sunset. So I wanted to get to know who this God was, and how he would answer my questions. This lead me to look to what the Bible teaches. And by careful study of the Bible I found the most logical answers are found there. Then I found scriptures like the one found at 1 John 4:1 that says Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.   So I test what people and so called "religious leaders" say against what  the Bible says. That has lead me to only one Religion. It follows the Bible closely, and teaches other's what Jesus thought when he was on earth. Peace and the end of suffering thru Gods Kingdom not mans. Jehovah's Witnesses proclaim that message worldwide.

No not really I think religion and beliefs are a personal thing. To believe or not to believe is your own damn choice. I get angry when people go out looking for a reason to knock someone down. That seems to be what goes on here.
"If you don't believe what I say then your gonna go to hell" That sounds a lot like a big ego trip to me. Makes the person saying it feel like their better than those who don't believe. I don't find it necessary to put people down in that way. I'm Christian and have been told that I'm not a real Christian because I feel this way.

Personally I was raised a Mormon. Do I believe in my religious believes of the church I was raised with. No.
Do I knock people for being Muslim, No. Do I knock people for being Jew, No.
Personally I like to learn more about someones religion before saying "that religion is wrong, that religion is stupid, etc".
If you like the person for whom they are, regardless of religion, why worry about it. As long as you respect there beliefs say food wise, or holidays.

I believe in live and let live, yet I do like to question others beliefs as well as my own, but I don't pretend to know better...usually.

It must, because there seems to be a lot of it going on.
I agree, lots of anger, very little live and let live.

That goes for both side!

to doubt or question the "spiritual" beliefs of another creates a vital life charge in both parties as long as they are willing to play with each other -- accidentally or intentionally. many people use this play unconsciously to stimulate themselves where they are obviously not fulfilled in their own internal function. one can see this very much on the internet because it is "safe" to do so in this forum.

Sure, like telling a kid "No no, 1 + 1=2, not 3" it's very satisfying to enlighten those that need enlightening.

I don't question others religious beliefs, because i wouldn't want anyone to question mine. I think that everyone deserves to believe in something. or nothing at all. I think its a shallow thing to question what someone believes in.
