i got a pretty large tattoo on my upper back oct.13th, and my back is still kinda broke out. i rarely ever have any acne. i thought it was the lubriderm the artist gave me, so i switched to some vitamin E lotion. its not quite a rash, but its not like pimples...its just annoying and i wanna get rid of them. could it be the hair folicles trying to grow back (since they shave the area of skin)?

it'll take a while but the bumps will clear up. it probably is the hair folicles growing back. regardless of if they shave you or not, the hair still has to break back thru the new skin (from the scabs) just keep treating your tattoo.
good luck.

go back to your artist if its really worrying you I.E. itchy soreness pain or swelling.DONT use vitamin E lotion get a cream like bepanthen or sum paw paw cream, seeing as u have had it for a while dont put it on to often.twice a day MAYBE and about 40 mins after u get out of the shower.A good rule is to always go and see your tattooist if your thinking thier are dramas,if they worry then you should also and see a doctor.

It probably is the hair follicles trying to grow back. Just wash the area with warm water and mild soap, and take a washcloth, wet it with hot water, and set it on the area.

Yea I think so.. Probably they shaved it too close and the hair can't get back through, then the lotion is clogging the pores..

I always break out from aquafor or any oily type of lotion. also, like everyone else has said, once your hair breaks through the skin, it will start clearing up. no worries!

Probably the hair.Don't rub it at all.You could pull part of the tattoo out.If your back gets any worse go to the doctor!
