many love their neighbour's wife too!
I am sorry for this comment. It seems westerners, and perticularly christian have only one word to express any kind of association, that is "LOVE"
You have many words like, mercy, support, help, sympathy, attachment etc, I think bible translators have created this confusion deliberately.

No I don't really like my neighbours I live in a small flat and although some people in the block are lovely some of them are really horrible and inconsiderate of other peoples feelings! There is only 12 flats in total but thats enough, I live on the ground floor and my flat is in between two mens flats, and the man on my left has a jack russell dog which barks constantly and he is always banging doors, and making loud noises late at night including making his car alarm go off at gone midnight, the man on the other side is okay he lives alone, but everytime I see him I end up getting caught in a long winded conversation with him, and sometimes I see him looking at me all creepy, he looks down and then back up again I think he keeps checking me out, which scares me! The people upstairs, some are really nosey and like to know everything that goes on, some never even say hello, and some are just really inconsiderate of other peoples feelings.
So no I don't love thy neighbour!, I know it could be worse but living in a coucil block is not an ideal choice, as we bought our flat, it was the people before us that bought it off the council, and we are tied to it for another four years yet!

I actually try not to get to know my neighbors. I much prefer privacy. I give them respect when we meet, but we don't do things together and we don't become close friends, I have enough of those already.

I live in a huge apartment building but I don't know one single neighbor :(

Sorry to say, I dislike my neighbor very much. He wrongfully accused me of something I was totally innocent of. There is no forgiveness in my heart. I was deeply hurt by his accusations.

I sure feel for you. Mine do get on my nerves from time to time, but they are also an endless source of humor. My neighbors being poor and without many resources.....responded to our city's demand that he paint his house.
He painted it alright...PURPLE....!
Laughing. The homeowners on our block acted like they was "gut shot" for chrissakes....hey they never specified what "color".....hehehehehe

You need not love them , keeping a friendly distance will be beneficial at times. Eg. They can be a spokesperson when someone comes to your house when you are away.

no I hate them one side are alcoholics and throw themselves around the house at night and the other don't work or speak english but they bounce tyres in their garden ! they also bang nails into the wall on a daily basis.
