Elohim is plural. It refers to the deity. Humans are not immortal beings.

Most of the time.

Science can create and heal but science can also destroy and harm.

The Catholic Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.

The Church does not support science when it damages the dignity and sanctity of human life or damages the earth's environment.
