Bro. Dan,
To discover why the "Bible" contains what it does, you will need to study the Council of Nicea, in the year 325 A.D. It was there, that the Roman Emperor Constantine convened a meeting of all the leaders of the so-called Christian movement. They were ordered to bring all existing manuscripts and writings with them. Constantine chose to keep what served his purpose, and destroyed most of the other writings. The book we now call the Bible, was basically created at that meeting, and most of what Jesus taught, has been removed. The gospel of the Kingdom, which He taught, says that God, is the Father of all mankind, and that we are all brothers. That message removes fear from our hearts. Since all governments rule by fear, Jesus' teachings had to be silenced, and they are to this day. Peace be unto you...........

They were not God breathed, so don't belong!
But still have info on events and people, The book of Jashar for an example, has info on some of the kings, but that info was just recorded by man not God.
That does not mean its not true! God is saying go to these books if you want more info! As for the Bible, it has other more important issues to deal with, if the Bible dealt with every event.... can you imagine how large it would be??
Read John 21:27

i would sugest you to search a library or museum which has books and exibits of the old jews.
Becaues the bible was found after nearly 1600 -1800 years.
those books would have been under the jews and it could have been burnt when the temple was burnt in 70 ad. and it doesn't matter to the bible because it just gives a reference.
the best thing is ask this from a Jewish teacher. They may be able to tell you more about it.
Now supose DaVincis paintings were all burnt. just imagine but then will people disagree that he was the best painter.

I would agree with that statement. But then you'd have to include all the dozens, perhaps hundreds of texts that religious leaders have thrown out in many past centuries.
That's easy for me to say, though. I'm atheist, so I don't believe that God only inspired the ones that are in the Bible now.

No, it does not. We have all we need. 2 Timothy 3:16 - All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (New International Version of the Bible)

The Bible refers to certain other books. So what? Many other books have footnotes that refer to other books. Does that make any book with footnotes incomplete? Of course not. The Bible is not incomplete either.

If The Holy Spirit could inspire the authors of scripture to write infallibly, could She not just as easily reveal them to us directly? Would this not solve all the problems with the bible?

the bible, like any scripture is completed by the process of realization that happens within the individual.
the number of books or chapters matters only to intellectuals or mental deliberators -- who are not yet reading scripture anyway -- no matter the depth, completeness or complexity of their "scripture."

technically, if it is missing then the book is incomplete - what does it mean to have an incomplete bible? I'm not sure.
