I once got yelled at by a supervisor who gave conflicting information and whan I made it back to the register - they made me cry in fron of all the customers - at this particular time in Society it was considered normal.
If you were manger how would you have handled the situation?

Just consider your performance was excellent and that all eyes were on you. They have you circled as a target for mean games... Oh well. You can always come out on top because they are all older and uglier than you... lol just telling it as I sees it.

I would have taken you aside and talked about it.
but if your manager is verbally abusive enough to make you cry; maybe you should go over their head; because I doubt they'll be understanding.
