Nope. Not even close.
The President has been following a consistent policy of economic and diplomatic isolation against Iran.
The President has made _no_ threats of war nor has he taken any action that would indicate that he even feels that war is likely.
Personally, I regard anybody who thinks that war with Iran is coming as rather stupid. Here they are - listening to the same 'war' predictions that have been announced every three months for the past 30 years - and they are still believing people who have been wrong Every Single Time!

as an outsider this seems to be the American governments intent not only to me but to many people who have vast knowledge of politics and far more intelligence than i have . .I like to read the news reports from a variety of countries as i feel this gives a better perspective and what i see is that the American media are giving a very different impression of the situation with Iran No other country apart from France(who's new President appears to be trying to fill the vacancy left by Tony`s hasty departure ) is in anyway pushing for war
The reason why i think war could be close is because of the
IAEAs statement regarding its findings in Iran and Americas refusal to accept them in the same way they dismissed the reports that there was no WMD in Iraq according to the IAEA they have found nothing to suggest Iran has nuclear ambitions for anything other than peaceful purposes and the only question left is concerned with some STUDIES made by Iran in the past
how can a country making a study of something that they have no mean to achieve for many many years be a just reason to start a war that many experts believe would end up as WW3

Iran wants money from us. They know that we paid off North Korea to suppress their bomb development. Now they are doing the same.
The bad thing is that they are more dangerous with sloppily handling of nuclear warheads than they are of actual development.
Bringing this threat to the surface now creates political maneuvering in the US. Remember similar incidents have happened before US presidential elections. History repeats itself frequently. When a strong US president is known to be on the way out, threatening and cowardly countries jockey for power positions.

I hope not.
It would be a pretty stupid thing to do, But there seems to be alot of stupid going around nowadays.
Countries like China and Russia have shown support to Iran recently. If people think that doesn`t matter then maybe they should ask where the US is getting the money to fight the war in Iraq(from China).
Would be more trouble than it is worth.

Read it!
And again, Susan is an idiot.
And, if you start a war with Iran, you are starting a war with Russia and China, who have economic ties to Iran. That would be really DUMB.

YES WE ARE.
And personally I say its about freakin time. Been to Iraq, spent me a year there flying around seeing the sites. 900 hours roughly combat time. Now all you folks out there who claim to know that IRAN isn't doing anything wrong right now need to be quiet. You don't get that nice little in brief in Kuwait where the in-processing folks tell you about those crafty new IED's that are made just like the Qom made them in eastern Iraq's towns and road ways during that war. Nor do you get to hear about the wonderful caravans of weapons being smuggled into Iraq---FROM IRAN--- !! So ya know I figure if you haven't been there to see it for yourself and you just go by what you get fed to you by the nightly news. You don't have a reason to open your mouth about anything here. You have your opinion but its not reality based. So if I upset you or made you mad then maybe you needed it. Oh well. So Yes I say we are terribly close to an all out war with Iran. Their president wants it. Their people don't. But that's Government right. So Relax enjoy your Starbucks Coffee and keep thinking its the big bad world out there cause it really and truly is .
:) Later

Strap this scenario on for size: We start a war with Iran, oil would shut down. Casualties would make the stuff from Iraq look like a boy scout jamboree. Countries who would want the oil to continue to flow would take major sides leaving us out in the cold, socially and economically. Then World War 3 would break out cancelling Xmas for quite awhile. I pray I'm dead before this stupid crap takes place. Imagine starting a war with a retard as president.

...If "they" do it right, there won't be any war at all... Just have the SSBN Nuclear Submarine that is on patrol in the Pacific launch a few "flying fish" and Iran will be little balls of "green glass" in about 15 minuets... "war" over ! ...next problem ?

Iran has drawn a line in the sand. We are very, very close to calling their bluff.
As fathead says, it is likely to be a few bombing missions. The repercussions ought to be interesting, especially if our attacks are perceived as 'weak'.
