Here are the top 10 rudest questions to ask in Net chats:

It is absolutely incredible how people will respond to a personal ad or type of messages they send out via instant messaging services (Yahoo, AOL, ICQ, MSN, etc). Below 2. are the top ten rudest things people do and if you are one to ask these sort of questions then do not be surprised if you are more times than not blown off!

1. Asking to see a picture when you do not have one.
2. ASL (Age/Sex/Location) not such a big deal with personals since that information is generally given but definitely annoying on chat.
3. Asking ASL and then not responding in kind, even if the person is too old or too young you should at least respond and tell them that they are too young/old. If you initiated the conversation have the decency to at least say, "good bye, you are too young/old for me."
4. Asking for a person's full name early in your conversations.
5. Asking for a person's phone number early in your conversations or asking them to call you (we all know about caller id).
6. Asking for details on a person's location - understandable if you want to know approximate if you are using a personals service (need to know how long distance it may be) but asking for details to pinpoint is not.
7. Asking to cybersex (are you really that desperate) or anything else sexual until you have established the other person is comfortable with it.
8. Sending multiple messages to someone when they didn't respond to the first one you sent. They are a) too busy to answer right now or b) aren't interested.
9. Asking questions that are plainly answered in the profile and/or personal ad, you have problems reading?
10. Initiating a conversation and then asking the other person what they want to chat about. Maybe you should have thought about that before sending a message!

Here's another few bad ones to ask on the Net or off.
It is said that topics to avoid in conversation include money, politics, religion, grooming or bathroom behaviors, and sexuality. And never ask anything that reflects badly on anyone's friends or family!

Especially when you aren't real close to the person, because they are very nosy. Here are some real awful ones:

1. How much money do you make?

2. Reproductive questions:
This is a question set that is often asked and most people don’t realize how hurtful it can be to some people (such as those who have difficulty having children). Even if they aren’t trying to have kids, it's still a very personal question.
2a: When are you going to have a kid?. (kids or another child)

2b. This is equally hurtful: "When are you due? Or, are you expecting?" (If they aren't pregnant, this question really can sting...regardless of whether it's a weight problem or a woman who just miscarried and is still big-bellied!)

2c. "Are you pregnant again?" This might imply there is something wrong with multiple pregnancies, it is very rude and also nosy!

3. Questions relating to people's private life, orientation, or intimate history such as:
Are you gay (or bi)? Are you a virgin? Are you on birth control? Are you sleeping with Bob? How many people have you slept with?

4. Questions involving religion or politics. What party people belong in or what their religion is isn't anyone's business. Especially avoid judging questions like "Don't you know you are headed for Hell?" or "Don't you know your political party is ruining the country?" or, "Didn't anyone tell you your religion is [a cult, a fake, a scam, etc]?"

5. Questions about grooming or bathroom use, such as "When is the last time you had a bath?" or "Did you just pass gas?"

6. Questions that insult or invalidate one's friends or family, such as: "How many men has your mom been with anyway?" or, How can you stand to have such a clueless/useless brother (or friend, or boyfriend, or wife, or parent,)?" or "don't you have any of your own kids?" or "when are you going to have a real kid?" asked of someone who is an adoptive or foster parent, or a parent of a handicapped kid, etc.

7. Asking someone you aren't real close to yet for personal details, such as address, phone number, email addy, weight, or age. Especially if they seem to be under 18, or if they are a woman.

I've been asked if I was pregnant...on more than one occasion ...and guess what? I'm rather slender, and sure don't have some giant beer gut or anything. Not quite sure where people get off, but I think that is one of the rudest things to ask a woman, unless of course it's blatantly obvious.
