Besides not going to church, reading your holy book, and praying.
Would you still try to be a good person, or would the gloves be off?

I do not go to church...i do try and study many different theological texts....key word here is try! lol...but i do pray in my own way....
i seek to be the best person that i can be and live by example. i find that the only thing that i can really change in the world today, is my perception and my attitude.
I try to promote respect, love and tolerance for all....especially with those whose beliefs differ from mine.
But i think that we all have a highly personal role to play in this lifetime...and walking my path is my own.

i hope you find what it is you seek.

Blessed Be

Before I accepted Christ as my Savior, I thought I was good. People would tell me what a great person I was. So I guess if I was not a believer, I would THINK I was good. I always tried be a good person, but now that I believe in God, I realize that there is no one good but God- and even the best person on earth is not good enough, without the shed blood of Christ

Why wouldn't somone have good behavior?? Why does someone have to fear eternal damnation to be a good person? Maybe people should try being good people because it is the right thing to do for humanity, not just to try to get into the VIP section of heaven. Or into heaven period.

Well, there would be no Catholic guilt, so I'd probably be having lots and lots of sex. ;) lol..I'm totally kidding. Even without my religion telling me to wait until marriage, I would probably wait until I at least find a guy that I truly love. I don't believe in one night stands. I'd like to think that I'd act the same, but one can never tell...

I think many christians are good only because they fear hell. This thought occurs to me because so many think atheists are amoral. They simply assume if I were in their shoes what would I do?
