OK lets say someone has a gf or bf, both genders either one. Would a guy or girl cheat or dump their mate just because they found someone who looks better and is more rich, talented, smarter, or whatever?

I'm not a very smart guy but if I try I can do it. I'm just afraid if I ever get a gf she would dump me for not being as smart or handsome as some other guy she suddenly falls for.

Are there really shallow people like that? They dump their gf or bf just because they see someone with higher standards. Also their bf or gf are good and treat them well but they find some new person who has more. Is this possible?

Thanks for reading.

There are shallow people who are always looking to upgrade for a better model. If that happens, then you're better off without them.

However, as long as you're just dating, I don't think there is anything wrong with moving on to someone else if you find a more compatible match. Sooner or later though, you have to settle on someone who fits, even if there might be someone better out there. A big part of being happy is about appreciating what you have and not worrying about what you don't have.

Unfortunately, there are people like that. However, it appears that you are not. This gives you an advantage over those who would cheat.

Honesty does have to be earned in a way, but you do seem genuine. People do not cheat just because someone is more better looking or smarter. In fact, many people cheat with people who are not as good looking or smart at all compared to their partner.

I believe it is just a sense (or lack of) or a propensity that compelled them to do so. If the opportunity presents itself, some will take advantage of it. While you or I might not do that, some people cannot resist the immediate gratification of that sexual urge. I did when I was very young, but I would not do it now. I have a sense of self-respect that prevents me from engaging in that; some people never achieve that goal.

I have been cheated on my current "other". I did not retaliate by doing the same thing, although I thought about it. I shouted and vented, but I calmed down and realized that they were not the same as me, as it related to being faithful. I won't tolerate it regularly, however I have made my opinion quite clear on the subject and what may happen in the future.

I do not believe it is you that might cause this. Blaming yourself is not the person you should be blaming. At the same time, you must understand that not everyone thinks as you do. Promises and relationships are all the same; what is different are the people who make them.

Stay true to yourself and don't try to figure out why someone else does something that you wouldn't do. If you must, go on to someone else or even be by yourself for a while. Can you really trust someone? I'm not quite sure, but I wish I was.

Shallow no, incompatible yes. Relationships are very rarely between 2 people who are perfect for eachother. This leads to divorce and cheating. The reason people get bored is becasue they are not with the right person. But looks and money do affect the shallow or the people who just want to have fun.

The truth is...YES...and a lot of them.People dumped people because they said they found out that they fallen out of love, but the truth is they found more richer, younger, smarter, talented, beautiful and sexier. But those people who dump people are also dump. They just want the outside look of a person with out knowing that the inner beauty that counts the most.

Yes, there are peole like that. If that person dumps you because of those reasons then the sooner you find out the better. You don't want to be with someone like that anyway. If hold your self high and let your weaknesses show like that, then they will probably leave you too though. Wouldn't you want to be with someone that feels sure about themself? It goes both ways.

I wish there weren't, but there are VERY shallow people in the world! Some people also want to be with many women for unmentionable reasons. It is a style of living that I wish wasn't around, but is...

Yes and it's unfortunate, but it's not everyone. When someone cares about you it's your total package they love. Brains or not. I'm not the thinnest girl in the world and my boyfriend gets hit on by tiny girls all the time. But he likes my total package (my confidence, sense of humor and lack of dram)and because of that doesn't see me as heavy. Never has.

I think it is more like the grass is greener thing....

Being comfortable with something makes ppl wanna try something new.....high standard can be a factor to make them attractive too...It is a reality.

It makes sense, but it is not gonna last long if you seek stimulus over secureness.......I think.
