So is the intention of god to create human so he can have servants who can't differentiate right from wrong except to follow his instructions, the way we are building robots now?

No.

Satan is evil because is radically and irrevocably rejected God. Tempting is just a result of that evil.

"But deliver us from evil."

The last petition to our Father is also included in Jesus' prayer: "I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one." (Jn 17:15)

In this petition, evil is not an abstraction, but refers to a person, Satan, the Evil One, the angel who opposes God.

The devil is the one who "throws himself across" God's plan and his work of salvation accomplished in Christ.

The Bible teaches that Satan is a fallen angel. Scripture sees in this being a fallen angel, called "Satan" or the "devil". (Cf. Jn 8:44; Rev 12:9)

Satan was at first a good angel, made by God: "The devil and the other demons were indeed created naturally good by God, but they became evil by their own doing."

Scripture speaks of a sin of these angels. (2 Pet 2:4) This "fall" consists in the free choice of these created spirits, who radically and irrevocably rejected God and his reign.

The devil "has sinned from the beginning"; he is "a liar and the father of lies." (1 Jn 3:8; Jn 8:44)

It is the irrevocable character of their choice, and not a defect in the infinite divine mercy, that makes the angels' sin unforgivable. "There is no repentance for the angels after their fall, just as there is no repentance for men after death."

Scripture witnesses to the disastrous influence of the one Jesus calls "a murderer from the beginning," who would even try to divert Jesus from the mission received from his Father. (Jn 8:44; cf. Mt 4:1-11)

"The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil." (1 Jn 3:8)

The power of Satan is, nonetheless, not infinite.

He is only a creature, powerful from the fact that he is pure spirit, but still a creature.

He cannot prevent the building up of God's reign.

If man is descended from Adam and Eve then wouldn't that mean that if Satan didn't trick Adam and Eve into eating the forbidden fruit that none of us would be here today? God would have no followers. I'm surprised there aren't any Christians saying "Thank Satan, I'm alive."

Satan is the father of lies. What else do you need to know? He is the deceiver. He will tell you anything, however, he usually tells you to convince you of what will fulfill the flesh and pull you away from God. His whole intention is to come between you and your relationship with God. He does not have to "work" at convincing people who are not Christ followers....for they dont need convincing.

So to answer your Eve question, he deceived her to believe HIM instead of believing God. That is the whole point of satan.
2Co 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
Joh 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

First, there is so many other reasons to think Satan is evil.
God already knew what would happen - "...for when you eat of it you will surely die"

So, the intent was not to build automatons. That whole free will thing - bit us right in the butt.

Now, you assume that they had to know right from wrong in order to eat of the tree. Not so. Flawed assumption.

If I tell you, you can eat the banana, apple or grape. However, if you eat the apple, you will die - this has nothing to do with right versus wrong. This has everything to do with self preservation. It could just as easily have been - "Don't jump off the cliff or you'll die"

While I believe in God, let me know how your FAITH in abiogenesis works out for ya :)

Satan always tries to trick us into thinking that something is good to do, but it's not. The knowledge we get is from the Bible. It tells us what is right and what is wrong, on every subject. If you worship God and believe in Him and pray that He will guide you the right way, then He will. Only if you believe and want to.

Satan did exactly what he was created for. Being an angel he has no free will. A torture device like the shock belts some U. S. prisoners are forced to wear, is not evil. But the men who designed, built and use them most certainly are.
God designed, built and used Satan.

Of course. Satan knew along with gaining the knowledge that God has about judgment, we would also gain separation from Him and would spend the rest of history arguing over whose fault it was. Instead, it would be better to realize how much more we need Him.

Honey, there's no such thing as a talking snake except in Harry Potter novels (it's a book of fiction too) so there's no devil and no sin and no hell. You have to be good on your own without being able to blame it on a pretend villain. That;s called taking responsibility for your actions. All atheists and agnostics do it every day.

Edit: Ok. I gotcha Blazey. But do we need to taunt the Christians like this? It should be beneath us.

Satan was evil because of pride, at least that's how it started and he was kicked out of heaven because he thought he could take Gods place, he thought he was better than God and didn't have to answer to Him. Look at him now and his future, reminds me of some people I know. He was evil then and he's evil now.
