It is said that learning is what starts after your education ends.

In reality education will prove valuable in your working life.

Firstly, while studying, whether at school, university or in a private course, you are only learning. Maybe you can learn faster at work, but your boss doesn't pay you to learn, but pay you to do. Which means, you don't really spend that much time improving yourself, but simply doing what you already know.

Secondly, qualifications are important for a lot of reasons. Yes, employers these days value your ability to do over your qualifications, but there is still a minimum qualification standard. Some companies require these qualitifications for quality control standards or for professional reasons (do you really want an unqualified doctor).

By investing the time and money into educaiton you also prove that you have an interest in the topic.

Finaly, life is a balance. The learning from different sources will help you in different ways.
