A blood moon is a Luna Eclipse. The light wavelengths in the red spectrum bend, so it goes into the shadow of the earth as it lands on the moon making the moon appear sanguine( orange red) colour.
It happens about every 7 years and in past times it was a portent of power either ill or good depending on the timing of what was happening .

There is no reference to a blood moon in the Bible. People should not look to the stars, moons, planets, etc. for guidance (these are occultic practices) and things associated with paganism and witchcraft.
The Bible is a book that teaches that our faith should be placed in God's son- Jesus Christ.

It may be a literal sign, or figurative.
If it's figurative it means that when the end comes it will be as noticable as a moon drenched in blood.
