Can anyone tell me the age of the youngest Sheriff elected and or where they served ? I have been looking everywhere online and cannot find anything.

I really love dumb gun law articles. About 25 years ago I read of a 18 or 19 year old being elected sheriff or police chief in a small town in Tennessee or Kentucky (I think). The irony of the story was that he signed his own concealed weapons permit but he was too young to buy a sidearm. That task went to his 22 year old wife.

Now that's the youngest I have ever heard of but the only lead it really supplies you is a possible state to start looking in. I'm sorry, I hope a little info is better than none. Good luck on your search...

EDIT: If memory serves the article was in "The American Rifleman". I'm quite certain that is accurate but I can't help with the date.

I CANNOT REMEMBER WHERE I SAW THE ARTICLE, 1970-80'S. 18 YEARS OLD WON ELECTION.
