You have every right to be concerned for your dad's safety. I have watched many documentaries about prisons. Unfortunately, prisoners have a lot of time to think about "getting even" and to invent crude weapons from just about anything they can find.
Ask your dad to inform his supervisor about this situation. Since they have methods of protecting prisoners who might be in danger, then they must have methods to protect correctional officers who might be in danger.
There is nothing you did wrong so do not blame yourself.

just about all states have a disclosure policy for C/O's. here in michigan where i work, if i see an inmate i know from the outside, i report the fact that i know him, how i know him and whether or not i feel it will be a problem working in the same facility with him. CO's in michigan can possibly get dismissed from the department if they don't report someone they know. most likely in your father's case, the inmate will be transferred to another facility in the state. no state should ever put an offender in the same prison that a family member of the victim works.

am sorry that you had to charge someone with that, and good for you for doing so..............with regard to your dad MAKE sure that he knows this man is being sent there and he can take it up the chain of command at work, also you can call the police that helped you with your case so that someone else is aware of this.
Either way I am sure your dad will be fine, I highly doubt that they would let an offender with that sort of leverage [emotional level] be at the same place as your dad for every ones well being,
regards

IN OUR FACILITY(STATE) WE HAVE A HOSTILE ENVIORNMENT. INMATE KNOWN TO FAMILY OR FRIENDS.
YOUR DAD CAN HANDLE THE SITUATION. REQUEST THE INMATE INVOLVED WITH THE SEXUAL ABUSE,TO BE MOVED TO ANOTHER INSTITUTION.
THE RELATIONSHIP OF YOU AND HIS ENVOLVEMENT, MIGHT BE CONSTRUED AS YOUR DAD BEING UNABLE TO DO HIS JOB,WHEN YOUR DAD DOES HIS JOB AND THIS INMATE IS WRITTEN UP FOR RULE VIOLATIONS.
THE INMATE WILL AND COULD SAY "HELL HE'S OUT TO GET ME BECAUSE OF HIS DAUGHTER."
REQUEST THE INMATE BE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER INSTITUTION.
IF THE ADMINISTRATION DO NOT TRANSFER THE INMATE, THEN AT LEAST YOUR DAD HAS LAID THE GROUND WORK FOR BEING SUED BY THIS INMATE. ANYTHING THAT DOES HAPPEN TO THE INMATE, WOULD NOT BE BLAMED UPON YOUR DAD.
I FEEL YOUR DAD CAN HANDLE HIMSELF. I HAVE WORKED WITH MANY OFFICER FROM THE SPORTS FIELDS WHO WERE INJURED AND WE HIRED THEM IN. I HAVE BAD KNEES FROM FOOTBALL AND SOCCER. RETIRED 42 YEARS OF SERVICE 60 YEARS OLD AND COULD THROW MANY AROUND.(275,6' )
I WOULD FEAR FOR THE INMATE. INMATES FIND OUT ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AND IF THEY LIKE YOUR DAD AS AN OFFICER, WILL BEAT THE **** OUT OF THE INMATE.
I WOULD BE SUPRISED THAT WHEN TOLD WHO HE IS HE IS NOT TRANSFERRED IMMEDIATELY. IF YOUR DAD DID GET INTO IT WITH HIM AND BEAT HIM UP. WHAT WOULD A DEFENSE ATTORNEY SAY ABOUT HE DID IT BECAUSE MY CLIENT ASSAULTED HIS DAUGHTER.
AGAIN REPORT IT AND I AM SURE THE PROBLEM WILL BE GONE.
