There's a guy my friends and I sit with at lunch, and we'll be talk about something, and mention the color black, and be talking about someone's shirt color. And he'll go "That's racist" What's a good comeback we can say to him to make him shut up with his inappropriate comment?

Well, down here in the south we would just tell him to shut the f**k up until he can learn to speak with some measure of intelligence.

Ask him if hes actually ever met a slave. Or had to deal with a burning cross, or a group of men raping his mother and sisters while beating his father. Or had his neck in a noose for looking at a white person, gotten jailed for an unreasonably long time period, hell even had a window get broken by a rock. If not tell him to look up a few people who have and see if they enjoy his rasicm comments. -Snidely in a tired of his immiturity kind of voice works best.

Carry on the conversation with the other people at the table & don't even acknowledge this guys comments at all. Ignore whatever he says.

Let him know that what he's doing isn't cool and it makes everyone around him uncomfortable. You can word it however you want. Then try disassociating yourself and, if possible, your group of friends with him for a while. Ya know, blow him off. That is, if he can't take a hint.

so's your face works for almost everything... take it further, after you say so's your face, hold up your arm like you just shot a basketball and say count it. after that act like you never said anything and don't acknowledge he exists until the conversation is over.

He just wants attention. I would say "are you saying his shirt is wrong for being black?"
