Start with your mother. You will need to know the man's name.
Do you know if he is aware of you? If he does not know you, It could be a real shock, or very embarrassing if he has a family now. If he knows of you, and does not want contact, it will be difficult.
If you have his name, and possible address, you might try internet searches.
If you are adopted, the adoption agency may know of your parents. They can send your contact information to see if the father is willing to communicate with you.
Don't get your hopes too high, and don't be too disappointed if your father doesn't want to have a relationship with you.
Do you have an emotional support network, someone you can confide in, such as a church pastor, trusted teacher, very good friend? You may need someone to help.
It may take 10 years or more to find your father, so be prepared for the long haul.
Good luck.

there are many people finding type services on the internet. If you know his first and last name, age, and general location that should make it easy for you to start out looking. Try Peoplefind.com or a similiar service.
Good luck!

You could hire an investigator - can be expensive
or snoop using the computer
Go to: anywho.com and type in name / city, state
try also white pages on internet. Good luck - does your other know where he might be as well? be prepared to any outcome. I would find him either way

You can do public records searches inexpensively. IF you are really driven and price is worth it you can get a P.I.
