Dear Lori,
i think it's an absolute truth in life that there are sometimes things that happen that are beyond our control. There are other times when we can do something but are afraid to do so. The prayer just says that we need the wisdom to discern and to act accordingly. For times when things are beyond our control- we trust that God is in control and knows what He is doing. For times when we can act- we act in accordance to God's word and trust that He blesses our obedience.
Whatever it is that you believe-- you should not worry about what people think, but worry most about being close to the Lord.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

I often have thought the same thing. Thus, I wrote the inverse of the 'serenity prayer', and I call it 'The Insanity Prayer':
God, grant me the insanity,
to have my cake and eat it too,
the courage to eat it all,
and the wisdom to ignore the difference...
Although there are many things I cannot accept, there are many things I must endure. Without a sense of humor, I probably WOULD go insane!

I think that it is a good prayer to remind us that even though we can't changeevery thing, that there are things that we can do to change some things, and with Gods wisdom, we will know the difference. In other words, with Gods wisdom, we will except that there are things that we cannot change, and to admit it, instead of trying to do something that we are unable to do, and then get upset because we can't.

Prayer is talking to God and sharing everythings you feel to him. He is the best listener for us. Even we do not know how to say the words. He knows through holy spirit who is in you. we can not learn the words by heart if it does not same with what we feel. God is even closer then everyone in the world. Don't worry about the imperfect sentence.

I disagree. It takes wisdom and strength to let go of something that can't be changed or fixed, or is better left alone.
Edit: also, 12 Days is correct.

Sounds like you B/F is insecure.
It's called projection; a form of denial.
