I had a similar situation - where I would sweat excessively and smell bad too. It seemed to come on all of a sudden.. Anyway, I went to a naturopath and turns out there are some things to stay away from. One thing you SHOULD absolutely do is drink lots of water (fluids in general, but not stuff with caffeine or too much sugar (like pop)).

A couple of things to ask yourself, are you eating anything new? or eating more of something (like sugary stuff, deep fried stuff (chips, fries) or even more meat?). Do you feel lethargic or sick? I don't normally eat too much meat but I had started to because I lived in a bush camp where they served meat every night. After talking to the naturopath, I reduced my red meat intake (i also reduced the amount of poultry too, but that probably wasn't really the culprit). Anyway, I stopped smelling as much. I also didn't feel as flushed and sweaty.

So here are some of the things I did
1) drank about 3 litres of water a day (I was working outside though - so you could reduce that to maybe 2 litres)
2) added lemon to my water to get some vitamines from it
3) reduced my meat intake
4) cut out ALL treats and fast food (chocolate, chips, deep fried anything (that seemed to play a big role in my smell)
5) returned to eating a lot more steamed veggies
6) stopped using antiperspirant to let my body get rid of toxins (armpits, I guess are huge toxin releasers). Now I don't use anything but deodorants (which mask the smell but allow you to sweat) except when I work out.
7) had an allergy test done. turns out i am allergic to things that I was eating a lot of that summer... probably didn't help my situation much!

Anyway, i know that isn't a quick and easy answer but changes in your body like that often indicate something isn't quite right. I could be something as simple as diet or it could be changes in hormones. If things don't get better you might want to see a licensed naturopath or open minded doctor. conventional medicine did nothing for me - they just suggested the extra strength antiperspirant..

Anyway good luck!

ok here we go...
i had the EXACT same problem as you. i came on yahoo answers and i asked the same EXACT question as you. and ended up finding out about certain dri. i am going to tell you this right now. YOU NEED TO BUY CERTAIN DRI IT WILL SERIOUSLY CHANGE YOUR LIFE. its only about 5 bucks a bottle and the stuff lasts forever. since i have been using it, it has COMPLETELY dried my armpits and seriously helped with the smell now all i have to do is put on a light deodorant in the morning and get on with my day. i dont ever worry about sweat spots and wear what i want without feeling self conscious about how i smell and look. also it really doesnt itch.. unless u have uuber sensitive skin then it might be a little but uncomfortable for like 5 minutes after you apply it but it really shouldnt bother you. BUY CERTAIN DRI IT WILL MAKE THINGS 5345897230498572039847509328475093842750398475093847509328475029384750293847 TIMES BETTER.

The best is Clinical Strength by Secret.

get a deodorant that is both deodorant and antiperspirant. The anti makes you not sweat as much and deo is the good smelling stuff. I like that secret brand, but don't get the gel ones... they suck.

I have the exact same problem. Secret Clinical Strength is amazing. It's like $8 at Target, but it's completely worth it.

Try Secret Clinical strength, and if that doesn't work use Certain Dri. It works but it itches BAD.
