Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff. But I've never seen anything to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. There's no mystical energy field that controls MY destiny.
As both a Star Wars geek and a religious person I'm offended by this question.

If you're talking in terms of the Star Wars movie, using the term 'God' is definitely not appropriate because religion is a very sensitive issue. Furthermore, Star Wars is a science fiction movie and thus, the concept of the whole show is definitely based on science and not the supernatural or religion.
Hence, "The Force" shouldn't be called God.

Because its not God. "The Force" is a telepathic power that is given to humans by a microscopic organism called a medoclorian. C'mon man I'm not even that big of a Star Wars guy but I still know that one.

George Lucas, with the help of Joseph Campbell (Pagan Authour), based the Jedi on the Wiccan religion. Therefore the "force" is based on a Pagan perception of the divine energy that flows through all things. This is where the whole concept of the "force" comes from. So yes, the "force" is god..... from a Pagan panthiest point of veiw.
(Im with the Pagan Alliance Inc Australia, we often jokingly refer to PA admin as the Jedi High Council.... )

because then they would be manipulating god and not the force, and because its the force, not god. and because its not religous, so stop looking iinto it so deeply, its meant for enjoyment, not interpretation
