It sounds like a classic case of shin splints... I suffered with them for months and everyone was telling me just ice them and if something hurts, stop. Neither of these helped me and I played sport through the pain, usually taking 2-3 paracetamol extra to get through. At the end of the season I saw a physiotherapist and an exercise physiologist.
The physiologist told me that it often occurs due to an under- or over-development of either your calf muscles or the muscles in the front of your leg. Simple icing and stretching may not fix it. You may need an exercise program prescribed by a physiotherapist or exercise scientist of some variety. Also, shoes that support your feet correctly are a must... A podiatrist may be able to tell you whether you need any particular form of arch or heel supports due to the way your feet impact the ground when walking or running!
Good luck with it, I know it sucks! See someone for it or you'll end up getting worse!

Sounds like shin splints. You can get them from not stretching enough prior to running. You need to stretch by standing on a step -just your toes touching- and lift up and lower. Then do just the opposite- turn around, place your heels on the step and lift toes. This gives your shin a good stretch. You need to give your legs some rest to heal before running again or you are just aggravating an already pulled muscle. Good luck

Sounds like shin splints. If that's what it is, they really hurt!! I've had them before.
When I was diagnosed with them, the doctor told me to stop running until they got better. You can take pain meds like Motrin and Tylenol, but those only work temporarily. The best remedy is icing them, and relaxing, no strenuous workouts until you're better, which could be several days to weeks.

Oh, you have shin splints. I was advised to apply ice and do stretches, but neither of those actually worked for me.
