You'll see a difference in the color after being cleaned by the dentist, but it all depends on how yellow they are, and what the cause is (smoker, coffee or tea drinker). If you want them really white, you can ask for them to be bleached, which will have a longer effect than if you bleached at home.

As for the Crest WhiteStrips, I don't know. I've never used them and don't know anyone who has.

I really hope u get this message. Whatever u do DON'T use CREST WHITE STRIPS!!!! It will eat the enamel off your teeth over time and then your teeth will be sensitive to EVERYTHING! I am a dental asst. We have ALOT of people who come in with that problem from those crest white strips. Use the toothpaste instead. When u get your teeth clean it will just clean out all the nasty's that you can't really get yourself when flossing and brushing. The other thing they may do is get partial or a full mouth xray. Oh and tell you if you need to make any other appts for any teeth problems they may find in the cleaning and or xrays. Good luck!!

Nothing will be done that you do not consent to. It is a normal part of a cleaning appt to check for any areas of decay, gum disease, and other problems and to inform you of them so that you can make informed decisions about bettering your dental health. The polishing performed at the end of a cleaning can remove some surface stain, but will not bleach them white. Whitestrips do work but the results may not last as long as professional whitening.

your teeth won't all of a sudden become white after a cleaning at the dentist. and i've heard that crest white strips work ok, but it takes a while til you'll see a difference.

I used the crest white strips premium plus, they worked GREAT for me!! I would recommend them to everyone. Going to the dentist to get your teeth cleaned will not make them white, but it will clean the plaque so they don't get worse and build up cavities.
