I need to do a survey for school and i just need to know what it is to be a christian... thanks

1. What qualities are important fofr you to be "true to yourself"?

2. What aspects of relationships are important to you?

3. Who is God for you?

4. Are you a follower of Jesus? How does this affect your life?

5. What do you say to God or Jesus when you pray?

6. How do you deal with you doubts about faith?

7. How has your faith changed over the years?

8. Identify specific events that have contributed to the growth of your faith.

9. Faith is a journey that is fed by many relationships - those within our families, with our friends, within ourselves, and obviously God. Reflect on these different types of relationships and can you tell me how they feed your life.

Again thank you for your time to do this.

1. True to myself means that I will not be found doing things that they world does just to be doing it. I only do things that I get true enjoyment out of, except of course for housework, but I don't need the trappings most people seem to need to feel like somebody.
2. I need to be able to be myself in a relationship and I need for the other person to be who they are. I need to trust that we are both treating each other the way we want to be treated.
3. God is my Father, my provider, my help, and so much more.
4. I believe totally in Jesus Christ and His act of selflessness so that we could live in eternity with Him. It has affected my life in only positive ways, after I grew up and realized what was going on.
5. When I pray it is like conversation. I talk, He listens. He talks, I listen. Sometimes He says things that really surprise me so I know it isn't just my craziness.
6. I don't really have those doubts anymore. God has grown me up into someone with a strong faith muscle.
7. It has only grown stronger.
8. Homelessness, job losses, abuse, criminal lifestyle, addictions, miracle healings and deliverances, many many blessings that I can't even begin to go into here.
9. I've had a lot of problem relationships in my life. I guess that's why I cling so tightly to God. I have only had a very few really good relationships with people and those people taught me just a little bit of what God is like - they loved me in spite of my foul human nature and brought something good in me out into the open. One was like a father to me and the other was like a mother to me. My real dad died when I was young and my mother was a horrible woman. God gave me parents who didn't make me.
People have caused me to be somewhat reclusive but I still do interact with people very well. I just don't tend to let anyone get too close. There is one person right now that I am closer to than probably most other people in my life and that is because we really got to know each other over some years of writing very heart felt letters to each other.

I will answer #5 for now.

My three most common petitions - pleas, really - to God the Father when I pray now are:

"Thank you, forgive me....

....and HELP!!!"

These are personal questions, why don't you answer it for yourself. It's so much better when you use your own testimony.
