They are frozen/small/shelled and deveined. The package says to thaw/ boil them for 3 minutes and then rinse under cold water. What if I want to serve them hot? Like with garlic butter? Do I just rinse them in cold water and then pour hot garlic butter over them? Can I sautee them in the garlic butter instead even though it says to boil them? Ideas please!

Are they cooked or not? If they are already cooked, thaw under cold runnning water, then add to your dish w/ garlic and butter. Cooking will turn them a pinky-orange color.

If raw, and a gray or brown color, then they need to be cooked. Cook over high heat in yoru garlic butter (add some EVOO so the butter doesn't burn) and take them off the heat as soon os they turn pinky-orange. Overcookign shrimp make them dry and tough.

A quick way to defrost shrimp is to put them in a strainer/collander and hold them under running cold water at the sink. Then, if your shrimp are gray/raw, you can sautee them til they turn pink and toss them with your garlic butter. If they are already pink when you thaw them , they're pre-cooked, and you can just heat them in the garlic butter til they are hot through. And you're making me hungry...... :)
