Is it just me? or does it bug the hell out of you when people do that? Oh I cant type that fast but I have to be the first person to answer. Let me go check.

Why do they do this? I never give thumbs down besides that when I see it happen. People might think who gave that person a thumbs down. It was because of the answer I read.

Dont you think they should just answer they question when they are done, and not jack the system so they can be the first or second one to answer it?

Yeah paul they can. And thats the point. Only the people that look it up for the first few times knew they did it.

Otherwise you would never know. Its just annoying that somebody does it. I have no clue why.

I can understand that I update my answers all the time when I have more. I dont change the original. I just write ***** UPDATE ******

But when I se a period or wait. Im pondering If I should just delete the answer. Ie its not an answer. Maybe it only bugs me. But they didnt submit an answer, that breaks terms of service. They will have to explain why the period was an answer.

Just wondering if I should start deleting all their answers. Doesnt go for review if you have enough points. They just take it off.

I've never seen it here and I don't know if people do it because they want to cheat or because they're newbies who think they don't have a lot of time to submit at all. The only place I saw it used a lot was a role-playing forum, where several people wrote a single story. Of course, if several people would be writing the next post at the same time, the story line would split and wouldn't make sense anymore. Possibly, the people who do this also think they _need_ to alert others they're writing?

Hmm, I've never noticed it before.

I don't write *wait* or *.* to be the first answerer. Sometimes I'll write a short thing and submit, then go back and edit it to be longer.

They seem to get a lot of thumbs down for that very reason.

Can't they edit it so after they go back you wouldn't be able to see it. I can understand them doing it. When I vote, I frequently choose the first correct answer.
