If the bill is under 25 dollars I usually tip 20 percent or more- usually 5 dollars.
If it is over 25 I tip between 15 and 20 percent, depending on how good the service was.

How much you tip depends on the overall price of your bill and the quality of the service. If the service is good, 20% or more. If it is average, 15% or so. Remeber that the quality of the food should not be a factor in the tip. Most cell phones have a tip calculator now, so you can always use that.

I normally tip 20% if my server is friendly and doing a good job.

An easy way to do the approx 20% is to take the amount of the bill and take the first two numbers and multiply by 2. You will need to move the decimal point over 1 number to get the amount. When you get into the hundreds you should use the first three numbers ....

ex : 52.75 52x2 = 104 = 10.4
or 15.72 15x2 = 30 = 3.0
or 104.27 104x2 = 208 =20.8

You should also remember that you should base the tip on the SERVER'S proformace - not that of the food quality - or other things that are out of the server's control. It is not fair to them if they work hard to be judged on other's work. On the flip side if you Love your food but hate your waiter that is the time to garnish the tip.

A good idea if you do not like things about the place is to let your server or manager know. By tipping poorly you do not truely get your message across

How was the service? Do you feel you were treated special?

In a restaurant, tip for the service and attention by the server, not the food unless the tip is meant for the chef kitchen staff.

Average is around 15 to 20 percent, before taxes are added to your final tab. More if you made to feel special during the whole experience. I usually round up to the next dollar instead of leaving change.

Personally, I tip based on the service, not on the percentage of the bill. I mean, why in the world should the restaurant's food pricing affect how much I pay my server? I tip from $1-7, based on how good the service is.

Depends on the service that your receiving. If your in a restaurant then you should tip the waiter 15% of the bill. If your in a casio you tip the slot attendent 1% of the jackpot you win. Cocktail serviers should get a dollar a drink. So it really just varies by services. What type of service were you talking about?

If you're at a restaurant, the standard tip for standard service is 15%, but if it's great service, it should be 20%
