Your punctuation and syntax is just a little off. More like this:
Although we as Americans may not understand why we shouldn't invade Iran to help them fight for their freedom, we should somehow realize that it's their fight and not ours.

I don't think the word "although" makes sense in this sentence. Isn't it really just two separate thoughts that should be in two different sentences? Something like:
We as Americans don't understand why invading Iran will not help them in their fight for freedom. We should understand it is their fight, not ours.

1. No comma after 'although'
2. Put comma after 'freedom'
3. change its to it's
4. Delete 'to fight' at the end of the sentence.
That's just the mechanics. If you need to put more meaning into the sentence, there are lots of ways to expand it.
Maybe you just need to correct the punctuation and usage.
