Yes i drink, far to much no doubt. I drink each night until i cannot function and never remember going to bed. For some of us alcohol is a curse that we cannot break.
Many mornings i wake up to drunk to go to work so i take the day off and go to the pub. Some say life is good but i cannot even think what life means.
As for what i drink i guess the easy answer is whatever i can get my hands on. I hope this helps.

ok as if. I do drink red wine when i go out to eat. I may sip
Champagne on New Years. I do not sit around and drink just to drink. And, if I find out that anyone I'm dealing with is drinkin' like it's the only thing to do, I kick 'em to the curb. There is too much alcoholism and ain't nothin' cute or fun about it, so I don't chose to get down like that. So, for your
'project" just say no cuz it ain't cute, k?

I live in Greece and it's normal to drink wine with a meal. So we tend to drink a bottle of wine between us (hubby and I) a day that's about 3 (-4) glasses each when we sit down for our eveing meal. I used to drink loads growing up in UK - it's a culture thing. That will never change in UK - we do drink wayyyy too much! I have done things I deeply regret due to alcohol comsumption - but as I'm 40 now I suppose one is certain to have some regrets - it's part of growing up.
I visited uk last week - and cannot join in their pub crawls minus food - it was a shock to see I am unable to drink without food!

OK, I'll treat this question seriously.
Most people drink to get drunk. Most alcohol doesn't taste very good. Well brewed beer is an acquired taste that is more important as a social distinction than a good taste. Liking supporting a losing football team. I still have beers that I'll support even though I never drink the stuff as a thirst quencher or for enjoyment.
I am partial to some drinks, and genuinely enjoy the taste. These drinks have nothing to do with getting drunk, and each person has their own favourite. Southern Comfort on the rocks or a Tanduay Coke are both drinks I enjoy anytime (particularly on the beach).
Getting drunk is often inspired either by the stress of daily life or the enjoyment of having a party. Being drunk for most people makes them happier, less stressed and more outgoing. I'm quite a reserved loner, but am the life of many a party. Girls have asked friends how I can be so different, and the answers they give are that sober it is difficult to get me talking, drunk it's difficult to get me to shut up.
Many, many people who drink have their underlying fears and anger exposed. Some people react badly to particular drinks and become either depressed or violent.
Very few of us do not have problems with drinking. Your personality gets brutally exposed as a drunk, often with tragic consequences.
Even the few of us who are always happy drunks, bear scars from associating with other drinkers.
So why do we do it? Men cannot open up to friends. Being less inhibited and bonding under the influence of drink is a man's right of passage. You see each other at your best and worst, and you have no secrets (not even from yourself). Then as you get older, you move on to more sedate and less volatile drinking and forge a place for yourself amongst older friends as a 'regular'. Some people never recover from the previous experience and are either chemically or emotionally hooked to excessive drinking.
At it's base drinking is a chance to get happy quickly, amongst like minded people and be who you are. Hang-overs and fights can be avoided by experience, but we all have to get past them.
Is it worth it? For me and many of my friends - definately.
For some family members, acquaintances and people with emotional problems - definately not.

Drinking is the act of consuming a liquid through the mouth. Water, for example, is required for many of life's physiological processes, and excess or decreased water intake is associated with health problems. "Drinking" may also refer specifically to the ingestion of alcohol, depending on the context in which the term is used.

Yes, I drink. It's a daily thing unless I abstain completely and that usually doesn't last long. I've lived so long with alcohol numbing my feelings that once I sober up for a few days and start feeling my true emotions I get tense and angry and want to fight in an explosion of rage. I understand what going postal means.

Yeah I drink. I normally have 1-2 glasses of wine with my dinner every night, but that's only because my parents said its more refined to drink wine.
When I go out on the lash with my mates on a weekend I either drink Vodka, Bacardi or Pimms (in the summer).

I drink to celebrate the end of a week, for celebrations of people and events, but outside of that, not for much else. Every once in awhile to try something interesting like the Absinthe ritual, I'll do.
