I have a problem with telling things out of context to others, about other people. Growing up, I have always to tell exactly everything, with ever little detail that i have done and i'm use to telling too much info, but why do i? Here recently without thinking i've done and hurt my family and one of my friends. I'm tired of it but what is some ways i can keep my self from telling things.

You have low self-esteem and hope that by talking you can command attention for a while.
Telling things about other people is basically GOSSIP, and at some point you will hurt people.
Truth is, if you can't keep your yap shut about things that are private or confidential, you will find yourself being shut out.
Nobody wants to have you for a friend if they can't tell you anything because you will blab it all over town.

The technique is: before you open your mouth, you need to ask yourself whether saying this would hurt someone's reputation, or will saying it hurt your reputation.

Try applying the ol' Rotary Club “4-Way Test”:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
