There is no real or hard archaeological evidence or tangible proof that how or when or who invented chaturunga precisely, but - its used as chaturji in the north charurangam in south chola even as early as 600 AD

umm I don't think it was indian, I think it was Arab. sorry umm I apologize. umm I believe I did not put my comment in a rude manner nor do I think you should. Listen if you think your culture invented it then go ahead, I don't disrespect your believe like the way how you attacked mine. It's not my fault that I wasn't born back then ( neither were you) so basically I have to learn form what school teaches me. But who knews maybe we are wrong and what you say is true. And if so I accept that, i don't doge honesty. But if you want to have a good conversation you should not put words in other people's mouths and give them a chance to talk. note: nobody is 100% correct when it comes to acient histories.

Persian, I beleive, approx 600 AD. Chaturanga "Four Arms", refers to different branches of the army.
