oh i know how u feel. i have been dealing with bad skin since i was 11 and its never gone away and im currently 21. ive tried everything out there and it never works. i had to go to my family dr who finally gave my perscribed meds for face wash and night cream. But before u get to that point try store bought stuff because it can start to get expensive. Ive heard Proactive is really good for break outs. thats my worst problem. When it comes to oily skin make sure u wash ur face every morning and night and if u need to during the day. when u have dry skin use a moisterizer that was more of a water base then an oil base. best way to tell is how thick it is when u put it on ur hand.. if its thick its got more oil in it. if is liquidy then chances are its more water. Do what u can right now. its not going to be easy but with some good cleansing of ur skin hopefully it will start to get a little better.

This site has excellent articles about skin care: http://www.cosmeticscop.com/learn/art.asp?ID=29

I have sensitive, combination skin that is prone to breakouts. My favorite products are:

1) Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads
I use these most of the time and switch to Aveeno Clear Complexion pads when my skin is feeling a little more oily.

2) Benzoyl peroxide cleansers - Oxy10 face wash, PanOxyl bars
I use these if I start really breaking out from sunscreens & sweat during the summer.

3) Murad AHA/BHA gel wash - it has jojoba beads for extra exfoliation.

4) Avon Microdermabrasion Scrub - fine, even particles that slough off old, fragrance-free & rinses off completely.

I use 3 or 4 whenever I feel like I need a little extra exfoliation to get rid of any flaky skin during the winter.

5) Desert Essence Blemish Stick for spot treatment.

Try dabbing white vinegar on it at night before you go to bed. It will help the oily/dry part. When you are most upset about your skin remember that this will all pass and any gal in a burn ward would love to have yours instead of hers!

Book a consultation with a GOOD dermatologist (check the credentials first).
