I would go with a set of Lacross tweezers, the flat edge ones. As far as pain goes...the faster you pull, the quicker the pain is over, and you'll get used to it too. I would use a vitamin E lotion for the red dots, not much though, just a little bit.

the best time to pluck your eyebrows you eyebrows is after you get out of the shower because your pores are open and so are your hair follicles.
Here are some tips for all brow types:
Choose a tweezer with a fairly sharp, pointy head and make sure that it pinches closed tightly. Without a tight grip, the tweezer will never be very effective grabbing unwanted hair. I suggest tweezerman, you can find them at a local drugstores.
Pluck hairs in the direction that they grow. Doing so will keep the hairs smooth and will hurt less. It's also a good idea to tautly hold the skin right above the brow as you begin to tweeze (rub an ice cube)--that will slightly reduce the pain of plucking.
Never pluck above the brow: those hairs will grow back thicker and more frequently and that will be messier and a bigger hassle than if you left them alone in the first place.
Don't pluck after you've applied lotion to your face. The skin and the brow will be very porous and a slick brow does not make for controlled tweezing. You may end up removing more hairs than you intended because the hairs clump together.
Be careful to pull the hair, not the skin when tweezing. While its easy to accidentally grab the skin, doing so may result in redness or bleeding. If redness does occur, rinse your face with cold water and apply a cold eye mask to soothe the flushed skin.
After plucking a few hairs, always stop to look at what you have done. You may be over-plucking and you might not even realize it. Stopping to access your plucking progress will help measure your results and prevent over-plucking.
Monitor hair growth. If you like the style you¡¦ve created, try to maintain it by grooming your brows every week. But be careful that you don't get carried away and over-pluck. If that happens, wait at least two weeks for the hairs to grow back in.
Good Luck. Hope this helps [:

-i dont think that the kind of tweezers matter but i have found that if you pluck right after a hot shower the hair comes out easier it still hurts but its easier
-also dont pluck so much that all there is left is a tinny tiny line that you call an eyebrow
-ussualy i just pluck right above my nose to the corner of my eye, sometimes i pluck at the end of the eyebrow if it i getting to long
-no matter what yo do never use those hair removal gells up there
-at first it will be painful but as you keep doing it it will seem less painfull
-always use lotion after plucking and it should stop those red dots (dry bumps) fom coming up, if you get one that looks kinda black on top it might be an in grown hair, for those just pick off the top if the bump and the hair should come out.

First of all invest in angled tweezers - the ones that have pincers like a claw....
Use an ice cube wrapped in a damp face washer to numb one eyebrow.....start underneath the eyebrow and start to pluck....it will hurt a bit but if you remove the hair close to the root n pluck quickly it wont hurt as much. follow the natural curve of your brow line....using the ice cube to renumb the area.....
Another great numbing tool....believe it or not is baby teething gel....like bonjela...make sure skin is dry and apply where you want to pluck....allow gel to dry and off you go....
My sister hates the pain of plucking so I use this method with her.
as you pluck sweep the ice cube over the area you just plucked to reduce puffiness and redness...
after your finished plucking dry the area and apply a soothing hair removal gel containing aloe vera to calm the delicate skin.....
Cheers to beautiful brows!

1. Use warm towel to open up the pores before you pluck. It'll be less painful and easier to pluck. Also, once you get used to it, it'll be less painful as well.
3. After you've finished plucking, use a cloth or a towel and some ice cubes to calm the skin and close the pore at the same time.
easy peasy squeezy lemon.

well its going to hurt no matter what i have gotten used to it so you should too. i like to use tweezerman tweezers they work the best. most ppl put some ice on their eyebrows to numb it before plucking but youll still feel it so it doesnt really matter. pretty much just follow your natural arch and shape dont over pluck and use some lotion like the kind that comes in the waxing kits to soothe the sore-ness. good luck!

It is going to hurt...tweezing is a no pain/no gain situation. I suggest that you go to a salon or spa, and have them professionally done the first time. They will give you pointers and shape them so that they suit your face, and it will be easier for you to do monthly maintenance after that. If you are going to do it yourself, don't over pluck and only remove those stray hairs from below the brow.

there is no pain free methods, but you could try putting on lotion before you pluck. there is this article in november's issue of cosmogirl (cover w/ blake lively) that has like tips and stuff about eyebrow plucking and stuff on pg. 36. it has too much to type, but if you want you can pick up this issue if you don't already have it. it's pretty useful this article

If you pluck your eyebrows, what do you do with a chicken? Tweeze it?
