If the earth is only 6-10 thousand years old, as many creationists say, then there would never be time for fossilization to take place.
So, what kind of magical mumbo-jumbo do they resort to in order to explain the presence and age of fossils?

Kenny,
So, basically, you reject facts and research? Yeah that sounds right...

Pastor Art,
You HAVE to be kidding me right? You're listing 'answering genesis.com" and "Dr". dino? (I use Dr. in quotes because Kent Hovind is nothing but a fraud. His "degree" is from a diploma mill. I could get my cat a similar degree with as much authenticity as his.
Please, don't embarrass yourself further ok? You creationists talk about science the way virgins talk about sex; with enthusiasm and ignorance.

I used to work as a naturalist at a park that was popular for collecting fossilized shark teeth. We offered an education program about fossils and we would actually get a lot of Christian schools that would come for this program. Some of them would get mad at the naturalists if we mentioned the actual age of the fossils (which was 10 to 25 million years old). One teacher told me that they believed the fossils were left from the Great Flood and this is how they explained it to the children. I eventually started skipping the whole age topic while I was working with the Christian schools.

The presence of fossils is a no brainer. Ok, I will explain it to you then. There was this big flood and a guy named Noah built a big boat......

How long do you think mineral fossilization takes?

As for the age of fossils or anything else, people have been making up numbers for decades. No one knows for sure and the methods being used are painfully unreliable.

Fossilization occurs usually when an object is suddenly trapped in layers of soil and preserved. The Noahic flood is certainly a prime candidate of sudden activity in the earth's crust, and thus a worthy candidate for the cause of fossilization. There is also not necessarily a lower limit on the amount of time it takes for something to fossilize. For example, there have been reports of fence netting embedded within rock.

I can't find the link to the fence netting that I saw embedded in rock once, but here's something on fence wiring embedded in sandstone.

Although we dont need to explain anything to someone so gullible as to fall for the natural selection macro evolution fable, we explain fossils as evidence of Noah's flood. There have been fossilized objects found less than 100 years old. Radiometric dating methods are all based on assumptions of initial quantities and deterioration rates that cannot be known by anyone except God. How do you explain that there are zero zip nada transitional froms in the fossil record?. Punctuated equilibrium? LOL . It is you darwinists that engage in Mumbo Jumbo.. Puntucted equilibrium indeed!!!!! gimme a break!!!

I used to have a sunday school teacher who thought that dinosaurs were a myth created by the "secular world" to make Jesus seem less real, and that the fossils were created in a factory. Yeah... She was nutty.

Some people say that the whole seven days thing is symbolic and that it really does mean a huge amount of time, but that's just one of those "open for interpretation" things that makes that stuff seem even more impossible to take seriously.

They actually believe fossils support the young earth theory. They think that the great flood of Noah actually washed up and mixed up the fossils so its hard to determine thier true age. As for the fossils themselves they are remnants of God's first attempt at creating the earth, but he had to destroy it because of sin. Of course this is nonsense, but you wanted to know.

Oh look Pastor Art is lying again. The rest of the information that goes along with what he said is that with ONE form of radiometric testing it came up with those results. With the other 46 it ended up showing a vastly newer result as it was supposed to.

Can you PLEASE show me ANY blind studies that were done with your so called fossil dating??????

I am a Christian WITH A BIOLOGY degree and I have NEVER claimed that satan placed the fossils to deceive anybody...he didn't have to, all he had to do was convince someone that they were millions of years old.

Can you PLEASE explain to me why the majority of these fossils in dispute have their necks bent backwards????

Can you PLEASE explain to me how a fish in the process of eating another fish could EVER become fossilized????

Can you PLEASE explain to me how a tree can be fossilized through several different strata layers????

Can you PLEASE explain to my why the 'geological column' DOES NOT exist ANYWHERE in the world???

Seems like you have some explaining to do as well =)

Duh, the big flood covered the earth with water and then it hardeneed and made fossil full of much needed oil, I just wish you homos would let me dig through the fossils for oil. No one cares about fossils, they are merely here for the enjoyment of man, like the female.

The real outlook is that we agree humans have only been on the earth 6-10k years, not animals. God created animals first in the Bible. Just wonder actually how long that time period was been the creation of human and animals. Most likely alot of years! First of all Genesis was NOT the first book written. Job according to dating was most likely the first book written. Genesis was just an account by Moses. The book of Job mentions 2 big animals that could probably be dinosaurs. The behemoth and the leviathon!
