The vast majority of Christians are not Young Earth Creationists. Most Christians accept what science has to say, listening to Galileo when he said "The Bible teaches one how to go to Heaven, not how the heavens go."
It just so happens that the minority of Christians who are Young Earthists are the loudest of the bunch.

We believe that the earth is approximately 6000 years old because of the genealogy that is recorded in the Bible.

And I would seriously do a little more reading before you say that 'all methods of dating have proved the earth to be around 4.5 billion years old' because those same dating methods require some preconceived notions that we really have NO idea about...that the rate of decay has remained constant, that we presume to know what the concentration of said elements were, and that most people don't know that you can't do carbon dating on a sedimentary rock.

Rock were dated (with known dates of origins to be 1949, 1954, and 1975 from volcanic activity) and the ages of these samples were between .27 and 3.5 million year (D.DeYoung, Thousands...not Billions, Master Books, Green Forest, Arkansas, 2005,124-130; Vardiman, Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth, Vol. 2, 406-464.)
Also, you might want to do some research on helium diffusion data.
You might want to talk to a doctor and have them explain to you the known incubation periods of any infectious diseases. Then read the book of Leviticus from a medical viewpoint and you WILL discover all kinds of 'science' in the Bible.

And as far as 'why does God judge us if He loves us?' Because He is a just God. I have a three year old, and I have set boundaries for her BECAUSE I love her and don't want her to get hurt. I have NEVER met a parent ANYWHERE that lets their 3 year old child run into a busy street! Our Father God has set rules for us because He loves us and to just ignore those rules would not only make Him a lier but also unjust. But the amazing thing is that He also provided a way for us to become justified.

.Well I'm going to try to ans you even if you are a basher trasher .Not 1 person can tell the age of the earth , because even God said 1 day is as a thousand yrs to Him .But did He create it in 24 hr days or longer or shorter .& does it realy matter .As far as judging goes we all have a free will to make choices some are good others are bad so who judges them . Does the potter judge the clay pot he makes, keeprs the good and trashes the bad . If you want to question God then read His word and look close, you will get most of your ans .

The Bible has been iterpreted over and over by man. There are a lot of ideas that aren't proven to be facts by people who interpret. There's a lot left out such as when Jesus went to India and taught, what? Maybe Hinduism. All I know is that christianity is not the only religion that's right.

Only certain fringe sects of Christianity believe that the Earth is only 6000 years old. Most Christians hold with the scientific facts.

I don't actually believe that God judges; that to me is too anthropomorphized an idea of God. But supposing that he does judge...

Do not our parents judge us as well as love us?

Science can be proven by facts and evidence to a point. The beginning of the world has theories like the big bang theory or creation. Both are based on faith.

and how does the Son of God brign bad karma? you dont need karma if you have forgiveness

The flaw in your question is that many believers don't think this at all. Why so often do atheist aim their questions at the fundamentalist view? Is it because its an easy target? The fundamentalists are the lowest common denominator of Christianity. it would be the same if believers took the view of an uninformed atheist as representative of all atheists.

God punishes us just like you would punish your child for disobedience. Or if they were older, you may let them suffer the consequences of their actions. Do you not love your kids? Same theory. Christians do have proof and are right about the age of the earth and such. All must do is search it out in the Bible-simple. No one can show me where it doesn't line up.

Christians don't believe that. The 10% (or so) of Christians called "Young-Earth Creationists" believe that. I hope that clears things up a bit. You would be shocked and amazed to learn what the majority of Christians actually believe.

A key for you to consider is this:
There is "Pre-Fall" Time and
"Post-Fall" Time.

and by "The Fall" I am referring to the Fall of Adam and Eve, when they partook of the forbidden fruit.

Before the Fall...everything was in good state...there were no "corrosive" elements introduced into the environment yet.
