Ok, I been having these sharp pains on the left side of my chest since I was a kid. They stopped for a long time, then they start coming back to me.

Its like a sharp, intense pain that all of a sudden comes to the left side of my chest. I think it has something to do with my heart because if I breath in, the pain becomes more intense.
It would even lower a little bit on my left side.

Like right now, Im going through it. I cant breath in deep for right now. These usually last for a few minutes. It makes me feel like I cant move or the pain will come.

My mom told me before that its because Im breathing in to much oxygen, but I dont get it.

Whats up with this?

Chest pain is nothing to mess with, so you should ask your doctor... there are a lot of potential causes, many of which are not serious at all. I've experienced what you are talking about - for some people it is because they have an irregular heartbeat. I had crushing chest pain recently that was the result of being given a medicine that had a negative interaction with another med I was taking. That would be an example of something serious. Think about any meds you are taking to rule out that possibility and ask your doctor if you still concerned.

The most your blood saturation can get with oxygen is 100% unless you are going into some kind of oxygen chamber then over saturation isn't possible. Since you have had this problem since you were a kid I would think its more of a displaced rib. You need to see a doctor. There is probably a surgical fix that will stablize your rib and get rid of your pain

To be honest the best way to find out whats going on is to talk to a doctor. I have never hear of breathing in to much oxygen. Chest pains can mean something else is really wrong.. so i would encourage you to go see someone.

chest pain that has to do with the heart is usually not sharp. its usually described as pressure on the chest. And heart chest pain is usually constant. it shouldn't change with breathing. I would guess its a lung or muscle thing.

first, it isn't your heart, the pain would not increase with a deep breath if it was. more likely it's just muscle tissue that is sore for some reason. Take some tylenol and rest for a bit.
