I have learned that if he isn't chasin after you he just isn't into you. If you talk about something he is interested in, you might become closer, but only as friends.

I agree with my_name...Ietting someone talk about there interests always makes them feel better about the conversation...even if you already know what they are talking about or if you dont completely agree it makes anyone feel better to let them talk. So knowing alot about something he likes makes you more of the friend type.

Yes, they do if that is something that interests them. I'm sure if the guy liked shopping, he'd be interested in that, too. It all depends on what the guy is into. For me, I love cars and football, so any girl who is into cars and football definately has an advantage over someone who is just "pretty" with no interests other than shopping.

It depends. If he's like all snobby and crap. He might be jealous and might think you know more about cars and football then him. But if he has a great personality and you think he does. He won't mind it a bit. It just proves that you guys have a little bit more in common so more topics to talk about. =) Not quite sure if they'll be impressed. But hey, if I was a guy. I'd be impressed. lol.

They are mostly impressed by a girl who likes the same things he does. He won't be too interested in listening about your shopping adventures, but talk about a game and you got him!

They are for a little while at first. Then they start to get competitive. Then they start to worry that you know more about it then they do. Then they get paranoid and start to to accuse you of spending too much time talking to other guys about sports and cars and stuff.

Okay, that's only the immature and insecure ones. the others like it.

I'm not sure if "impressed" is the right word.
BUT, most guys I know DO like it when a girl shows interest in something other than a typical girl-like thing, like the two you mentioned.

Well i dont know if they are impressed or not but i know that it is nice to talk to anyone about common likes. Dont use like your trying to impress him. Just that is your common knowlegde because you dig the stuff too. Guys arent iddiots they can tell when we are being fake.

Be your awesome self!

If you are actually knowledgeable, then yes by all means - most guys would find that a definite turn-on.

But don't just pretend an interest - I have never seen the point in that!

Yes, but is especially good when women are willing to share a relationship beyond her own tastes and interests. It shows a generous attitude and a wonderful indicator of a good relationship.
