LOL Why are people so shocked when I defend a religious person? Just because I'm not religious doesn't mean that I won't support their rights and freedoms. Am I seen as too "evil" to stand up for good people or something? Most of us are pretty decent folks ya know. Feel free to give your opinions.

You defended a religious person?? What a concept - someone who has his own beliefs AND defends those of others!! What is this world coming to? Why, if everybody was like you, we might - gasp!!! - all get along!!!

;-)

There is nothing inherently evil in choosing your battles with care. There are people who are a lot more unethical and immoral than many of the “holy rollers.” You seem to like lending your support to the underdog. This is often a noble act of compassion that is to be commended. I don’t know what the issue you are referring to is about, but I take much of the fighting that goes on in this forum in jest. If it comes right down to it, I’d stand up for a Theist if I thought they were being bullied and needed assistance.

I have many christians in my contacts and bizarrely enough most of them are actually more of the fundamentalist persuasion.

I actually find in general even though I completely disagree with some of what they believe they actually follow what their religion teaches, not some watered down, cherry picking version, that really isn't christianity anymore.

I have had and still have many ongoing debates with them inregards to the bible, I really do enjoy the book (OT more so) but from a mythological/cross cultural POV.

Just because someone wouldnt do the same for you doesnt mean you shouldn't do it for them. It means you are a compassionate person no matter what people believe and will stand up for the rights of others.
Very admirable.

I think you're quite decent. Plus, that's not so odd. I frequently defend atheists for the same reasons. Personally, I prefer to like the person, not what he or she believes or doesn't.

I do it all the time. I hate to see any group demonized or misrepresented.

I actually changed my ID because so many atheists thought I was an atheist!

I believe all religions should have freedom to practice their beliefs. I also believe that I have that same right.

Isn't Love Grand! We don't even have to seek for it, just seek the barriers which we build against it, (intolerance, fear) and dissolve them. I commend you on your act of love.....spread the word.....LOVE......can't you feel it?
It is everywhere hate isn't!!!!!!!!!
