Maybe your daughter is just tired of the same old boring milk! My little one outgrew his milk and refused it!.......but he loves strawberry flavoured milk lol and milo (a chocolate drink with heaps of great vitamins and minerals for growing healthy bodies).....(avoid powdered flavoured milk with too much sugar it will destroy their teeth) - try sustagen, milo or any nutritional suppliment n mix it with milk.

Try to offer her a flavoured milk - children get bored with the same flavours and textures very quickly once solids are introduced and its normal for them to refuse their milk......

If she still wont drink her milk then offer her calcium alternatives like fresh yoghurt with a little pureed fruit - soft cheese (my boy LOVES baby cherry bocconcini lol) even custards with a little cooked rice mixed in......

She is just wanting to experience more flavours...

there is NO NEED to take her to a doctor - its perfectly normal

Of course you know you should consult the pediatrician. But he will tell you that it's alright that the toddler doesn't want to drink whole milk and give you some suggestions to assure that her nutritional needs are met. Generally when a child is healthy and their weight is at the right level for their age and height, the pediatrician will suggest just using the previous formula or supplemental drink that the baby drank to allow the adjustment to whole milk. I mean think about it...If I served you food from a tube to your body for nine months.... then Breast milk or a formula created to be close to the consistency of breast milk for another 12 months..... now ......all of a sudden this new taste, this new consistency comes in.... whole USDA milk from Elsie, the cow. You might not get too impressed either. But what if I mixed it with something that you are use to drinking and gradually allowed the mixture to go from 3/4th yesterday's drink to 1/2 then 1/4 then... eventually whole milk.... Of course being a good mommy I am talking about whole organic milk. Right????? please say yes.~

At 12 months they can start drinking 2%, I would try that for milk for awhile. Kids go through these stages. They will eat if they are hungry. If she is not eating table food try some such as potatos, peas, carrots, finger type things. My 10 month old eats some table food depending on what it is. Sometimes I notice she wants to eat things she can pick up and try feeding herself. It is messy, but okay. If it last more than a few days I would go to the Doctor, just to be sure everything is okay. Make sure you know how many times she potties, what and how much fluids she does have. Honstley I wouldn't do some things listed on here such as juice and adding flavor. To much juice/sugar is not good, and flavoring will cause them to only want flavored in the long run. Call the Doctor if this persist. Mother of 4 ages 6,4,2, and 10 months.

Do you mean the child won't eat at all? Did this just start? A child will normally eat when they get hungry. Don't make a child eat out of habit. It could lead to obesity. Children don't have to have whole milk. If you recently switched from formula or breast milk to whole milk, try doing it gradually, one third whole milk to two thirds formula. A few days later go one part whole milk to one part formula. If the child is teething they may not feel like eating. If they are not eating or drinking at all (for a reasonable time) something is wrong. See your doctor.

I'm a firm believer that kiddos won't starve themselves. She'll eat when she's hungry. Make sure she has the opportunity to eat a variety of foods and remember they like to eat several small meals. When my kids were that size (I have a 5 and 3 y/o) they "grazed" and ate a little bit here and there.
I couldn't get my youngest to drink milk at first, but kept offering it to him. They have to try something up to 21 times before they decide they like it. If you're worried about calcium intake you can always have her drink orange juice with calcium or apple juice with added calcium. You can also offer yogurt or cheese.
She'll eat. Just don't act like it's a big deal. Sometimes they don't do it because it's something they control and they know it bugs you.

children love to copy their parents, what are you eating in front of her?? Are you drinking a coke and you want her to drink milk?? Give her some animal cracker and some milk to drink at the same time. Heat the milk, and make sure that the milk it not too cold for her mouth.
Try different foods that are not to spices or greases. Finger foods are always fun for them to eat. Try 2% fat milk, chocolate milk, protein drink add water, etc.

Pour the milk into an animal shape cup, loud color cup, funny face, etc.

You can gradually mix whole milk with her formula. As for her eating don't worry too much. If you make food a big issue now, she might develope a weight problem later in life. You can offer all kinds of finger foods. Kids like color so make it fun and not a battel. lol

Aw, how cute. I love toddlers. She's fine. Just continue eating in front of her without encouraging her to eat. She will eventually cave in. He appetite may be gone from being sick. As long as she isn't throwing up, nor is her fever over 102, she's OK. Call the doc in the morning to be safe. She will probably eat breakfast before that.
