What do you mean "you are on the payroll throughout the U.S."? Does that mean you have multiple employers, just one employer or are you a self-employed contractor?

If you live in Michigan, you file in Michigan and they deal with the other state(s) involved. Not sure what you are talking about re "more than 2".

Just make sure you tell the unemployment people in your state that you had out of state income.

You have to claim, in your state of residence, I.E. where your vehicle is registered, where you pay rent or property taxes, where you vote, etc. Just because you work multi state, your company has only one address for you.(thats where you file)

You file in your state of legal residence. It doesn't matter where you worked.
