Yes you need her permission. and you didnt say where you would live?
If its at your grandparents home thats fine, but to go stay with a boy friend is something different.
You need to tell your father, grandparents or some other relative that she is not taking her meds and is driving you crazy. They could have her committed until she is well.
My mom was they same way, so I understand.
She has been well for a long time now and I can laugh about the things she use to do..my mom is 83 and doesnt remember that part of her life and I dont bring it up.
Its hard being a teenager with a mom thats sick.
Maybe there is a support group at your mental health center for teens with parents that are schizophrenic.
It would be worth a call.
Good Luck

What does your Father say about this and/or some other relative? You don't give much information for an informed answer. If you are planning to move out (for the better) do you have any idea how you will pay the rent, buy food and clothing and continue in school? What does your mother say about your plans; does she or your father depend on you for help around the home? Are you being mistreated in any way (truly) or are you just angry because you have been disciplined. Without some feedback on these and similar questions it is difficult to give a good answer.

In any case you need someones permission as you are only 16 and a minor.

Good luck in your situation, good mental health, peace and Love! (I could be your Grandfather or even Great Grandfather!)

Talk to a trusted adult family member or a school counselor if you are being abused - otherwise , if your mother's illness is controllable , and is being controlled - or treated ..have a serious talk with her . You need permission from a judge , for emancipation if you are a minor under the age of 18 usually .

You would need to get emancipated. To do this you go talk to a judge, and they may allow you to be responsible for yourself. It would be like being 18 when youre 16. My mom was schizophrenic/bipolar too. I remember how tough it was. I wish you the best.

If she is a threat to you and you can prove it then you can move with legal assistance without her permission. But if you cant prove that she is a threat to you, you cant move without her permission because you are not 18 yet.

If you go to a judge, you can be legally emancipated (legally an adult) if he/she feels you are able enough to take care of yourself. You must know that if you get into any kind of trouble, you are able to go to jail, even if you are under 18.
