Your first instinct is right. My son got into a really bad car accident when he was 9 yrs old. He was with my ex sister in law and she was bringing him home, when a drunk driver hit them head on! When they called me to meet them at the hospital I was so happy to see he wasn't hurt. I thought that the accident must of not been that bad until I saw his aunt. She was covered in blood. As the doctors were checking him a police officer came in to speak with my son. He asked him questions about the accident and asked him if he was wearing his seat belt. To my surprise he said no. The doctor looked at me in shock. The doctor told me that he came upon the accident and it was the worst he had ever seen. He said the drunk drive died instantly. As everyone left the room I asked my son what happened. This is his version.. he said when he was coming home that he was thinking of me and his younger sister. He knew something bad was going to happen but didn't know what. Then he remembers feeling like everything was perfect. Just before the accident his aunt told him to put on his seat belt. He never had a chance. He was sitting in the front seat with no seat belt on. His aunt was hurt the drunk driver died and they were all wearing a seat belt. My son didn't even have a scratch on him. The doctors came in and counldn't understand how he was still with us. The doctor told me that he should have flown throught the windsheild. My son later asked my why he felt like everything felt perfect before his accident. I told him, many people live a life time and never get to feel what he felt. The only thing that I know that is perfect in this life is God. He felt his presence. He held my son down preventing him from going through that windsheild. This happened 2 days before Christmas. What you felt is excatly right. There will be people trying to tell you differently, but pay no attention to them. Listen to your own heart. He is telling you he is with you now and forever. God Bless.

What you felt was real. I've felt the Holy Spirit before. When I first believed and felt his presence I was so amazed and happy, I cried... a lot.
For me He felt like wind... filled with love.... really weird but really wonderful.

No, I think it is real...I have felt his presence many times when I was praying..My SIL has this picture of Jesus on a throne, and she is kneeling before him..when she prays..she says it is real...not just in her own mind...It happens to most Christians....He is there with you, you know...every time you pray...he especially inhabits the praise of his people....

He's always with us...probably he's just giving you comfort which he's always doing to all of His sons and daughters. I don't have any experience on which I feel His presence physically but I did see Him in my dreams...His face was not clear though.

That's cool, never happened to me, but once on acid a friend of mine saw a giant satan in our backyard, then later she thought the kitchen was infested with grapes and kept calling it the grape infested area.

no you didn't. I've said this before: christians let church give them a placebo effect. When people are standing up, arms protruded, with subtle tears streaming down their faces while they mouth out "thank you Jesus" during the praise and worship service, they think that they are feeling god's realness. Even if god is real, Christians need to realize that god is not anymore present in a church than he is present to you outside of the church.

That's great! I'm sure it was a great feeling, but I myself have yet to feel it. I'm glad that you felt so close to God, and hope it happens more! God Bless.
