Down size your jigs! Feather tailed jigs 1/32oz, small twisters.

if the lake is like a bowl, look for outside of weed beds toward the deeper water. Start slow jigging deep and move your way up the water column untill you hit fish.
If the lake has turned over, they might be a bit more scattered!
If there are underwater springs, fish them.
underwater humps? fish these towards the deep side of the lake.
For the crappies, a simple jig with a fathead or similar crappie minnow (whatever you get locally). Fish the same spots, concentrating on the out side of the weed beds a bit further out. Start deep and slow, move your way up the column.
Not cold enough yet for the micro ice fishing jigs, but I'm downsizing my jigs and slowing down too.

the best ever gill jig is the pop eye jig.tip it with a b moth and dont use a bobber.fish by the drop off, the fish are getting ready for the winter and going deep with the cool weather comming. the pop eye jig has a small feather and the eye is bent at a 45 they are REALY THE BEST!!!!1 GOOD LUCK ASE THEY SAY ''A BAD DAY FISHING IS BETTER THAN A GOOD DAYS WOORK"

Jigs or good when the temp. drops. Best colors are black and pink. Live bait is also good (minnows)

blue gil love crickets and you dont need live ones. You can buy plastic ones if the water is clear they will work good. They will strike raw bacon pieces and canned biscuit dough
