if everyone opens prsents together is it ok to buy expensive present for a nice cousin like a calvin klein shirt and for a cousin who bullies/abuses you buy him a flashlight for 99 cents or a keychain?

You're "required" to buy everyone a gift? How can your family tell you who you must spend YOUR money on? I say don't buy for people you don't care for, and if someone confronts you, you tell them "I buy gifts for people I care for, and people who care for me. I will not be bullied into spending my own money on people who treat me poorly."

Actually those dollar stores can be a blessing at Christmas for giving token gifts. For that bullying/abusiving cousin, try and look around the store before you buy. Sometimes you can get 2 for 99 cents. Keep the price on theirs as an "oops" and you can keep the other. Bargain shoppin' baby!

One gets what they put out. Get a gift that is not quit that insulting ( because they don't deserve the sympathy they might get) Yet I would keep my eye out for a cheap gift. I feel your pain.

It's kind of making a bad situation worse. Why not kill them with kindness? I mean, don't get them a CK shirt--get them something cheap, but just don't make it LOOK cheap!
