I'm sorry to break this to you, but experienced Wiccans do NOT take Silver Ravenwolf seriously. Her scholarship is shoddy and her ethics are extremely questionable, and her spellwork often has holes in it.
Here's an article about why you should stay FAR away from her:
http://wicca.timerift.net/ravenwolf.shtml
You're much better off studying the works of Scott Cunningham or Raymond Buckland, who actually know what they're talking about. Cunningham, in his book "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner", has a self-dedication ritual and also a chapter about the steps leading up to self-dedication.
You can find other Wiccans and Pagans in your area through the Witches of the World section at Witchvox:

Silver Ravenwolf is not a reliable author. Her knowledge on Wicca and Witchcraft is EXTREMELY limited and so are her morals. She does not take the craft seriously. She cares more for her bank account than she does about educating. It's people like her that give all Witches and Wiccans a bad name.
No person who takes Wicca and Witchcraft seriously takes Silver Ravenwolf seriously.
Scott Cunningham wrote some great books on Wicca, most of which are geared toward Seekers. Other good Wiccan writers are Raymond Buckland, Dorothy Morrison, Doreen Valiente, Starhawk, Z Budapest, Laurie Cabot, and many others. Books like "The Complete Book of Witchcraft" and "Wicca for One" by Raymond Buckland are excellent and thorough; also "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Pracititioner" by Scott Cunningham is good. You can pick those up at the library or in the Religion, New Age, or Metaphysical sections in your local bookstore, or amazon.com.
Also check out www.witchvox.com. It's loaded with information on Wicca, Witchcraft, and other forms of Paganism. You may also find a teacher or coven in your area listed there.
Good luck with your studies.

Sorry to disappoint you, but serious practioners do not take RavenWolf seriously. RavenWolf has forgotten the concept of "harm none." She has significantly contributed to the commercialization of Wicca at the expense of inexperienced, confused lost souls (mainly referring to pre-teen and teenage girls). Here's a direct link to Catherine Noble Beyer's article "Why We Despise Silver Ravenwolf" http://wicca.timerift.net/ravenwolf.shtm...
I recommend you check out the 'Wicca for the Rest of Us' website. The site's author is an academic and a practicing Wiccan. She answers all the "basic" questions and more. AFTER checking out that website, I have two other sites I am recommending:
Wicca for the Rest of Us http://wicca.timerift.net/
The Witch's Voice http://www.witchvox.com/
Wiccan Spirituality http://www.wicca-spirituality.com/index....

Check on yahoo pagan groups in your area, I'm from a very rural, country, highly christian area, but i found a group or two within traveling distance. If you get a good group, they are more than happy to help you with any questions you have in the future, also they can offer wisdom, experience and advice.
blessed be

I would advise you to follow your heart and instincts. I was never taught and have only glanced curiously at books on the topic, to get the general idea. I figured the rest out on my own - and I am good at what I do.

Get yourself a cape. Get a cauldron also. Find the coolest dagger imaginable. Learn the Runic language. I don't know what I'm talking about, but those 4 things are COOL.

There's a ship arriving too late
To save a drowning Witch. 7 _^_
She was swimmin' along
Tryin' to keep a date
With a Merchant Marine
Who told her he was really rich
But it doesn't matter no more...
She's on the ocean floor
'N the water's all green down there
'N it's not very clean down there
'N water snakes
'N rusty wrecks
Is all that she can see
As the light goes dim
And she's tryin' to swim
Will she make it?
(Boy, we sure hope so...)
Not even a witch oughta be caughrt
On the bottom of America's spew-infested
Waterways, hey-hey...
She could get radiation all over her
She could mutate insanely...
She could mutate insanely... (that's right)
She could go on the freeway and grow up to be 15 feet tall
And scary-lookin'
And then...
Cars could crash all over the place
As a result of people with Hawaiian shirts on...
Lookin' up to see her face
Sardines in her eyebrows...
Lobsters up 'n down her forehead
All of them HORRIBLY LARGE FROM RADIATION ...
And smelling very bad
And DANGEROUS!
Maybe a submarine could save her,
And bring her home to the Navy...
For some kind of ritual sacrifice...
