Normally Church doesn't start until 10:00 am, how long do you need to sleep??, You then can take a good nap in the afternoon if you want before the evening service, it just makes you feel warm all over. Praise the Lord, a great day of Rest. By the way, if it wasn't for Jesus giving us that day of rest do you think we would be getting it off at all. The rich man would be working you 24/7, its called be a slave, Remember, thank God for Sundays!!!

As God intended the Sabbath Services are held Friday evening after Sundown and then you can go home and rest all the next day, including sleeping late Saturday morning.
Any church which calls Sunday the Sabbath does not know very much about the Bible.

Kinda wondered about that myself. Of course, "rest" can mean many things to many people.
I'm Jewish, and we have our sabbath on the last day of the week (from Friday evening at sundown until Saturday evening until sundown, since the Jewish day traditionally starts at sunset); it's not necessarily a day of physical rest, but a day during which we take a break from the rest of the world. We concentrate on other, spiritual things - our friends, our families, on study, on fellowship; it's got very little to do with physical rest, and everything to do with making a sacred space in time.
If you want a good book on the subject (from our point of view), I'd suggest "The Sabbath" by Abraham Joshua Heschel. He was a traditional rabbi, an activist for equal rights who marched with Martin Luther King, Jr., and in my opinion, an amazing thinker whose works and words are important for Jews and Gentiles alike.

Hey Christians, I've got an idea. Let's ignore the fact that millions of people are dying every day without Christ and instead argue and condemn each other about something meaningless toward our salvation and look like fools to the rest of the world.

The only days I wake up early are for work, M-F. Sunday I don't have to get up until 9:00ish, so I do rest on Sunday.

lol I tend to agree with you on that one! I despise waking up early, but unfortunately mom's always have to be the first one up lol
The thing I don't get about it is that nowhere does it really say that the Sabbath is supposed to be the same day as the day of rest, we just automatically assumed it was! God said that we were to labor six days and rest the seventh, and He said that the Sabbath was to be the first day of the week. Seems to me we ought to worship on Monday then lol

we don't have to wake up early. if u mean waking up early and going to mass just go to the night mass. Also its a day of rest because we aren't supposed to work we are just supposed to pray to God. However now we don't follow this we always have excuses and sin always lead us to not do this.

We get up early to honor God. It's called putting God first...duh. Also, that way we have the rest of the day for our Day of rest. Because our morning of worship is out of the way.See what I mean?

Yeah, they are correct, technically it is Saturday...but man...what a rough day today!!!!!! sheesh....my vote is for MONDAY...I can't take no more.
The idea is to rest from labor....Just don't sleep in too late,so you are able to participate in worship with the local gathering of believers.
