Just wanting to ask what tattoos you guys/girls have, where they are and what they mean to you?

I think tattoos that are a bit of a story board of your life and it's milestones make you really unique (as opposed to the generic Asian characters/symbols etc).

SO. What are your stories???

I have:

A crash cymbal symbol in the back of my neck (it's drum kit musical notation) because playing the drums is my LIFE. It's a serious passion that I could never part with.

A cartoon zombie rabbit on my inner left ankle for my pet rabbit who is like a son to me... love him very much (he acts like a puppy dog, very cute!).

A chicken standing on a star on my right shoulder blade. This is for my sister/best friend who I love a lot and call "Chicken". It's a cute line drawring based on my favourite board game form when I was child. The star is based on a Hollywood star and symbolises her ambition to be an actress/singer.

(Oh, and I designed/drew all of my tatts myself.)

Thank you for asking this, I absolutely love explaining my tattoos.

I got my first tattoo at 18, the abbreviation for my then-boyfriend's (current fiance) name on my hip. It looks just like this [Wm]. Now, I know that getting names is bad, but honestly he deserves a place with me forever. When I was 15 I was in a terrible place, I was still reeling from the death of my first boyfriend, my parents began abusing my 8 year old sister, I had no idea what to do, and no one I could count on. He took me and my sister in (he was 20 at the time, don't judge...) he protected us, and he helped me get through the emancipation process. He's my best friend, and my hero, and for that he deserves recognition.

After that I got my chest tattoos, a mermaid and a swallow on opposing sides each carrying a banner. This is by far my favorite tattoo, and I have the best explanation ever. Ok, here goes.
Regina Spektor has been a tremendous influence on my life, "Songs" was the first album of hers I ever heard. The song "Prisoners" really struck me.
Basically, the song is about an inmate who is imprisoned for life. It talks about the desire for sudden redemption, and thus freedom. Then she says "If Hans Christian Andersen could've had his way with me then none of this sh*t would've ever gone down." I take that to mean that her childhood was not a normal one, her parents were distant, perhaps neglectful, certainly not the kind who would teach their children HCA's stories. HCA wrote fables about human nature, so this line seems to say that had her parents taught her the lessons to be a good person, she would not be in her current situation, in prison.
So, I got a mermaid and a swallow on my chest ( a refference to the "tattooing myself..." line) to represent what I could be. Horrid, and hateful, and blaming my parents.
The banners read "Rise from the mud" & "and start over", because thats really what I had to do. I had to just start fresh and forget the life of blame and regret.

My fourth tattoo is my graffiti tag from when I was 17. My emancipation was granted right after I turned 17, so the tag is a reminder of the exhilaration of new freedom.
Virulent &hearts

My final tattoo has actually faded into nothingness now, but I plan to get it redone eventually. It was "C37859" inside my lower lip. When I was young, before my parents turned bad, I had a horse named Calvin. Calvin was a retired racehorse, and all racehorses get a serial number tattooed on their upper lip to prevent cheating.
I got my lip tattoo to match as a memorial to him.

I havent gotten any yet.

The first Tattoo i want tho is my zodiac sign on my left shoulder blade. I want to get it with my best friend so its like a matching tattoo thing.

The second one i want is the initials A W K on my wrist. A stands for Angela W for Wendy and K for Kelsi. The reason being is because those are the three people who got me to stop cutting. (hence the wrist as the area)

The third i want is Tony the Tiger on my calf, My dad died when i was 8. His name was Tony. He had a really cool tiger tattoo on his forearm...I wanted to get the same as his but i figured Tony the Tiger was more cooler.

The fourth i want is a Nautical star on my left bicep..To represent one love, one life, one heart, one destiny, and one soul.

Then the fifth i want is one my right shoulder, being Jack Skellington on a hill with Sally and Zero. The nightmare before christmas is my favorite movie.

your tattoos sound great, very unique and original which is great!!

the first tattoo in 2006 that i got is a koi. i'm asian so i decided to go with that theme. i had wanted one for probably three years or more. they symbolize good luck. they struggle up the waterfall of life and once they reach the top (heaven) they turn into a dragon. lotus flowers also are considered to be lucky and they also struggle up from the bottom to surface in the water and are so beautiful once they emerge.
after getting that completed i got a sea turtle to make a full back piece. to me they represent wisdom and grace.

i got a skull on the top of my right foot, not to be morbid or "trendy" but because it conveys the raw emotion that i felt when my coach in high school was murdered. and also when a friend in college died in a car wreck. i never got to really say goodbye to either of those people. so the skull is a memorial to them and it is to remind me that death is just around the corner and i should make every minute count.

my newest tattoo is on top of my left foot. it is in honor of my family heritage. my mom was born in korea but never knew her birth mother because of... racism basically. so i got a takeout box with traditional korean art on and around it. and i got a fortune cookie because i love them so much. this tattoo means the world to me because it is a part of me, my mother and my grandmother whom i have never met.

I currently only have one tattoo... It was something I put a lot of thought into. It's three stars on my foot, blue, pink and green, each star represents someone very important to me that I have lost, my grandfather, my grandmother and my good friend Tiff who passed away two and a half years ago very suddenly at the age of 21.

So far I've got two, but starting to get that itch for the next.

My first is the southern cross. It's a constellation in the southern hemisphere made up of 5 stars. I visited Australia & New Zealand back in 2002 and it was a life changing experience. I wanted to be able to always remember the things I learned there and that I could do anything I set my mind to. It's in the middle of my back right above my bra.

My other tattoo is VERY personal to me. My cousin was murdered in April of this year, and on the day of her funeral my 3 cousins, sister and I went up to get tattoos for her. We all got the letter J (her name was Jodi) with angel wings and a halo. We each put our own personal touch on them to make them our own, but they're all very similar. We all got them on our backs so she'd always be watching our backs for us. Mine's on my lower back.

I have 5 tattoos so far:

I have a dragon on my left inner forearm: My grandma spent 3 years in China and when she came back, she passed her love of the culture on to me. My living room has a dragon/eastern motif to it and my grandma has since passed away.

I have a tiny black butterfly on my right temple: Black butterflies (aka Hell Butterflies) transport lost souls to heaven.

I have a wolf on my left upper thigh because I used to be part of wolf watch in one of 6 states that still have wild timber wolves.

I have 2 more butterflies (one on my neck and one on my ankle) because I love the symbolism. Breaking out of a shell, emerging as a beautiful new creature. And I just really like butterflies.

I have 2 right now... one on each shoulder. One is a pattern off a peice of bone china that me and my mom collect. Its something me and her and my grandma have in common... so i got it for symbolism. It was actually my Great Grandma that started collecting wedgewood, my grandma that found the Clementine pattern. I fell in love with it so it became my first tattoo. :) Something really special to me.

On my Other shoulder i have a blue phoenix. Not a bird with fire around it but a bird made completely of blue flames... A phoenix represents a rebirth comming again strength... overcoming a huge obsacle in your life. I battled with depression for years and years and years and i finally won the battle and now i live a normal life without medications to keep me happy... Since it was depression thats why i have blue flames. Its really important to me to remember that I overcame it... i had the help from so many people and i got myself out of my rut. Its important to me.

Eventually i'll get a tattoo of a brooke trout on my calf for me my dad my grandpa and my great grandpa. we all loved camping and fishing and it was something i did with my dad since i was 4... and i wanna get something for me and my sister too

6 all together:
first one is a tripped out sun on my left leg.He has long hair, long beard, sunglasses on, with the moon, stars and earth reflecting off of them.Very large, took 3 1/2 hrs to complete.
2nd is a rope anklet on my right ankle.
3rd is a Pisces sign on my back.I personalized it though, the fish are kissing with a lock between their tail.
4th is a butterfly with a tiger face(not original at all) but I like it,on inner right forearm
5th is a set of old keys(black and grey) on left inner wrist.
6th I just got yesterday and is my favorite. Its the medical symbol,(the one with the snakes on the pole) coming up out of a lotus flower on my right inner wrist. My wife got the same one on her ankle.Hers is much larger than mine, she also put a Hospice saying on the top and bottom of it.We got them together, she is going to nursing school now,so she choose it.She said this tattoo inspires her to finish her schooling,(which she is doing awesome at!)It means the world to me that she choose this tattoo which means so much to her,to share with me!

Well let's see...

I have my brother's football number inside of a bulldog pawprint. This was my first ink and it's on my upper right arm.

I have "friends and family" on my left upper arm in Kanji. It's blue and black faded together.

I have an orange cartoon dragon on my left outside calf and a Japanese honor dragon on the back of my right calf.

I have a tribal red and white dragon on my left arm that goes over my collar bone and down my back.

I also have twin Ying and Yang dragons on my back, centered.

I am currently getting a sleeve on my left forearm of koi fish, lilly pads and dragon flies.

=)
