we sat together last year for a class and he kept on talking to me even if I was so shy and quiet... like I only smiled back whenever he talked to me and yet he continued to talk to me everyday... he even brought up things about my past that I wouldn't have expected him to remember or even know... we don't have any classes together yet this year but whenever I walk pass him in the halls with my friends, he only looks at me and not at my friends... I've known him since elementary school but we never really talked... so does he like me or am I just being overly sensitive?

There is something strangely familiar about your story, like I read it before on this forum.Anyway, on the off chance that it is just a mix up, I believe one could make an argument for him liking you. The alternative, is that like you say, he remembers you from last year, and he is trying to be friendly.However, there is a way to find out which it is . The next time he smiles at you or passes you in the halls, smile back and slow down your steps so he will recognize an invitation to approach you.Assuming he does approach you , you have to talk to him ( I know you say you are shy and that makes it difficult for you).If you like him,and I believe you do, that is your only choice.Shyness is not a curse or a handicap. Don't let it stop you from maybe a potential relation ship that could turn out perfect for you. Who knows---he could be your future husband; in which case I am looking forward to my wedding invitation.

This is coming from a guy so I know what I'm talking about. He DOES like you. I would never do that stuff to a girl unless I had a crush on her or something. If he really did/ is doing all of that, he definitely likes you. I am being honest. Go for it!
