What is a good excuse to contest a parking ticket? The violation is for parking on a red zone.

check if everything is correct on the ticket, license plate number all that if that's correct then there's no excuse, sorry just pay the fine and get on with your life.
next time "calculate" the fine,
do break the law if you can't back it up, money wise
do the crime, pay the fine. sort of speak.

about the license plate number, if that's not correct, you could challenge that. But....
I'd give it a slim chance.
good luck anyway.

Living in LA all my life, and going to this city's epicenter of parking tickets (UCLA) my strategy has always been to have 2 or 3 pre-written letters with valid excuses for why your car was parked in the red, during st. cleaning hours, etc.

Anyone who says just pay the fine and get on with your life, obviously hasn't been a broke student with 15 min to spare. Parking tickets are great revenue for the city and sometimes they really are shady about how they deal em out. Pay your ticket, write a letter, save it for next time -- 75% of the time I didn't hear back... the other 25% I've gotten a refund check months later. Goodluck!

It will cost you MORE to fight a parking ticket than the cost of the fine. PLUS, a parking ticket is NOT a moving violation, and shouldn't cost you any points on your record, or effect your insurance rates.

You will have to go to court on each one plead not guilty and post a bond equal to the fine you will then be given a court date. and you will need to hire an attorney. You will spend at least 2 days on each ticket fighting them If you have nothing better to do then go for it. If you do then pay the fines and STOP PARKING IN RED ZONES! those are for fire trucks and Emergency vehicles.

Just pay the fine and forget it. The judge has already heard all the excuses in the world, and he ain't buying any of them.

You ran out of gas and had to push it to the closest parking spot and had to walk to a gas station.

what does your question have to do with Safety?
pay the ticket
you don't have a good excuse (because there are no acceptable excuses)
